Last month girls got to “Explore More, Worry Less” at Morning Star Day Camp! This 2-day camp is held every summer and packs in the adventure. Girls are bussed to and from camp to enjoy activities like creating crafts, performing skits, playing sports and water games, learning camping skills, and of course, making friends. Our upper elementary/middle school scouts even get to up the adventure level with activities like canoeing and archery. The best part? The camp is 100% girl led. Each station is run by older scouts that have carefully designed and planned each activity throughout the year. There is something for everyone!

When you live near The City of Bridges, why not use one of its bridges for your final bridging ceremony? There are plenty to choose from! Troop 26691 ended their high school scouting years with a fun and relaxing mini golf outing before getting fancy for their final outing as a troop, heading “dahntahn” to Pittsburgh to enjoy a culinary experience at The Melting Pot and their bridging ceremony. Congratulations to these girls on their high school graduations and their years of service to their community through scouting! Best of luck in your bright futures, ladies!

Congratulations to Troop 26686, who completed their final Bridging Ceremony! The troop celebrated with a late morning brunch, a pinning ceremony, a candle ceremony, a final friendship circle, a few gifts and thank yous, a fun Kahoot game celebrating 13 years of memories, and, of course, a final “Linger” by the campfire. The candle ceremony was made even more special as the candle used to “pass the flame” was initially used in a Gold Award Ceremony by their former teen Leader, Samantha, their current leader’s daughter.

13 years of Girl Scouting is a long time to create a few really awesome memories, and Troop 26686 definitely did just that. Each of these young women has left their mark on the Morning Star Service Unit. If there’s anything for certain, it is that these young women will make the world a better place. They are incredible human beings who will do amazing things!

Their Leaders sent the troop off with a few lessons from over the years, such as always be kind; don’t be afraid to fail; try new things; life isn’t always fair; give back; some rules are meant to broken; laugh; slow down; “self talk for the win”; life is hard; be silly; anything can be an adventure; and to ALWAYS pack an extra pair of pants (IYKYK)!

Cheers to 13 years of Girl Scout Troop 26686!

A big thank you to Brownie Girl Scouts Maddie and Jules of Troop 71056 for opening and closing our April Service Unit meeting. Maddie is in her 3rd year of Girl Scouts and enjoys horse back riding and going to the beach in addition to scouting. Jules is in her 2nd year of Girl Scouts and enjoys learning at school and reading books when she’s not participating in Scouts. Both girls also love art 🎨 🖌️ 🖼️🤩 Thank you, girls! You did a great job!

Another Morning Star World Thinking Day celebration is in the books! This year, girls were presented with challenges at each country booth visited to earn beads for bracelets. They also made items or food and exchanged SWAPS to represent their countries. So much knowledge was shared about our wonderful world of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides!
