We said we would periodically post some memories from 2026 thanks to content submitted by you guys. So here’s the first post.

Chad G***e from Steel City Guitar Works spent the weekend re stringing and checking over everyone’s instruments. FOR FREE!! We think Chad was an excellent addition to the event this past year and sincerely thank him for his donated time and materials. We also hope that if you need any luthier work done you’ll consider Chad and Steel City Guitar Works.

Stay tuned for more content from 2026 to help keep those winter blues at bay!

Hello Bluegrass Music Lovers!

It’s hard to believe that fall has arrived but you all know what that means! It’s time to open stage time requests for the 2025 Ice Jam. You can begin sending your requests on November 1st. Please note that we will close band requests on January 5th.

A few things to note when requesting your stage times:

Please email me at my personal email address: [email protected], making sure to put your band name in the subject line.

Indicate if your band is available Friday, Saturday or both and give me a four hour window in which to schedule. It makes it much easier for me if I can have that allowance. Keep in mind, there are over 25 bands performing and it can get tricky filling everyone’s requests but with your help and understanding, it can be done!

The Ice Jam Committee appreciates the support that you have shown over the years and we look forward to another successful event because of all of you!

Hello Bluegrass Music Lovers!!!
Following is the band line up for the 2024 JIJ!!

Bands please take note:

1. Please be at the stage area 10 minutes before your stage time. Your sound men (and one woman) will be available to help with mic set ups and adjustments. They will also mix your set during your first song so jump right into the music. We want you have the most amount of time to give the audience what they came to hear!!
2. If you have never performed at the Ice Jam before, please come and find me so I can meet you and to let me know that your band is there and ready yo go.
3. Bands will enter the performance hall through the main lobby of the hotel.
4. The doors into the performance hall are closed while the band before you is on stage. We will open the doors when the one stage band is down with their set. Please let them exit before you enter. The stage is small and you can’t get up there until they are done with their set.
5. Accept our gratitude for the many years of support and dedication to our festival. For without you, we wouldn’t exist!
See you all soon!!

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Rich (Buster) Thomas.
Buster was a multi- talented guy who never left you without a laugh.
His smile was contagious and his sense of humor was unmatched. He had a knack for story telling. And oh, the stories he told.
Our family band, Bits ‘n Pieces, had the pleasure of having Buster as our banjo player for many years. He made everything fun but especially playing music. He loved bluegrass music and he really loved to play the banjo. It was evident with every note Bus played.
RIP banjo man. Bluegrass music will never be the same without you.

The Bluegrass Relief Fund is honored to be chosen to be the beneficiary of the 50/50 raffle this weekend at the Clarion River Jam.
It’s been a rough couple of years but better things are coming and it starts here!

We love it when a community comes together!
We've missed January Ice Jam Bluegrass Festival for the past 2 years but what we've missed more is the benefits of that festival to the people who need it most.
Their committee has been mentor for us over here at Clarion River Jam Bluegrass Festival. They helped us grow over the past 12 or so years and it only seems fitting that we return the favor.
Bluegrass Relief Fund will be the beneficiary of Clarion River Jam's portion of the 50/50 raffle. Their committee will be on hand throughout the weekend selling tickets, so be sure to stop and get a few!
