Giving Forward With Thanks
Dear Friends and Supporters,
The last several years have been a time of amazing growth for Project Hope. Because of your kindness and generosity, as of March 2014 we have been able to fill 6,390 totes for families since
2004. Project Hope has developed into a ministry on many levels, reaching families of hospitalized children as well as working in the lives of those who serve through its mission. Those who have donated time, talent, monetary resources and items have had a remarkably positive impact on how families are able to cope with the traumatic and stressful time of their child’s hospitalization.
Project Hope has been a source of healing for my family and me. However, over the last several years, I realized it was time for me to step back from Project Hope. It was a very long and difficult decision. I have spent much time praying and attempting to discern what is best for Project Hope, my family, and me. Over the last six months, the Project Hope Board of Directors and Friends has taken time to pray, work through options and ultimately discern the best way to move forward. We have experimented with a few models that would allow Mark and me to have less involvement. Ultimately,
it was decided that the best way to move forward is to close the doors of Project Hope and gift another organization with our resources. Plans are to dissolve Project Hope in June 2014, close to the date when Tyler would have graduated from high school.
Searching for an organization to gift, led us to “Zachary’s Mission”. Similar to Project Hope, they strive to meet the needs of families of critically ill children. I believe it was more than a mere coincidence for Project Hope to donate to Zachary’s Mission, as the parents of Zachary received a Project Hope tote while their son was hospitalized. Once the final tote is packed, Project Hope will donate its supplies and reserves to “Zachary’s Mission”. In addition, if you feel called to continue to support an organization helping families of critically ill children please see their website at www.zacharysmission.org for information on ways you can help.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity over these last 10 years. It has truly been an awe inspiring gift to watch God working through so many hands to accomplish Project Hope’s mission. Your gifts and kind acts of service have truly been a blessing to thousands of children and their families.
With sincere gratitude,
Kim Sebring
The last tote assemblies will be May 7th and 21st at St. Peter’s Reformed Church, Zelienople at 6:30 PM.
The goal is to fill at least 80 totes to the brim at both assemblies.
