Every year in Greene County, more than 1,000 children complete Dolly Parton's Imagination Library! This past May we celebrated these "Imagination Graduations" as part of the first ever Growing Up Greene Early Literacy Open House. 🎓🥳

Less than a week ago we received the devastating news of Dolly Parton’s passing. In honor of the Parton Family’s request to send tributes and donations to the Imagination Library, we are launching the “I Will Always Love You” Legacy Fund to directly support the program here in Greene County.

Her life’s work continues and it is our honor carry on that work with you here in our community!

The Greene County Public Library Foundation is devastated at the news of the passing of the Great American Hero, Dolly Parton. She was the embodiment of the idea that fame, fortune, and celebrity are meaningless, unless put to use for the good of all. It is our honor to continue her work and legacy of inspiring a love of reading through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library for children here in Greene County.

Known for her outsize persona, appearance and talent, she rose from rural poverty to become a top-selling singer, songwriter and entrepreneur.
