The Kaaginator is our take on HYROX and the CrossFit Games but IM ABLE style! Take on a series of challenge stations designed to test your strength, endurance, problem-solving skills, and determination.

Our IM FITTERS recently had a blast celebrating their hard work at an end-of-summer pool party at Schlegel Park Pool! A huge thank-you to Lauren's Foundation for sponsoring this special event and to the wonderful pool staff and Reading Recreation Commission for helping everything run smoothly.

After a well-deserved break, IM FIT classes resume tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1, at So Fit Club! We can’t wait to see everyone back in action! 💪

All registered participants (except those competing only in the Klinger’s Hot Wing Hustle) receive their choice of a unisex T-shirt or women’s tank!

If you’ve been to one of our events recently, you’ve probably already met Kourtney Boughey! 👋 She recently made the move from Virginia to Pennsylvania to join IM ABLE as our Community Engagement & Volunteer Director.

Kourtney brings more than 15 years of nonprofit experience building volunteer programs, developing community partnerships, and connecting people with causes they care about.

Throughout her career, Kourtney has held leadership roles with Feed More, the YMCA of Greater Richmond, and The Steward School, specializing in volunteer engagement, program development, and community outreach.

Known for bringing people together and creating welcoming, meaningful experiences, Kourtney is passionate about helping organizations expand their impact through strong relationships and collaboration.

BIG news for outdoor adventure! 🎉 We’ve officially added FOUR new GRIT Freedom Chairs to our fleet of adaptive equipment!

Built to tackle gravel, trails, snow, mud, and other challenging terrain, these all-terrain wheelchairs create new possibilities for adaptive hiking and outdoor recreation. You may have already seen them in action at this year’s Spartan Race, and they can also be used at Ruck & Roll this November!

Keep an eye out for future programming that incorporates this new equipment as we continue expanding opportunities for people with different abilities, interests, and goals. 🧑‍🦽‍➡️🥾🌲

🎾 You may remember Jon Hayashi, one of four adaptive equipment grant recipients at this year’s BASH.

After having a spinal cord tumor removed from his neck in 2017, Jon faced lasting physical challenges, yet his passion for competition continued to push him forward.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to provide Jon with a specialized tennis wheelchair. Earlier this month, he reached out with an incredible update:

"I had my first tournament with my new chair this weekend, and happy to report that I won both B Level Singles and Doubles at the Magee Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in a dominant fashion without losing a single set in any of my 5 matches, which was held at Ron Jawarski's Riverwinds Golf and Tennis in West Deptford, NJ. I beat players that I've lost to in the past (sweet revenge!), and I know having this new chair is making a huge difference in my improvement, especially in my improved mobility and better reach due to the chair design. I'm actually also playing in a local public league against able-bodied players and have beaten 3 players already so I'm really happy with where my game is right now and where it might take me to as I continue to work with my coach Jack Keller at Riverwinds.

I'm just so happy and excited so I'm just telling everyone I know, and I wanted to thank you guys again and of course the generous donors that made this possible."

Take on the Adaptive Run/Roll at the 2026 IM ABLE Games: Races and Reps on the Runway!

Start on the airfield and head onto the surrounding roads for a fully accessible 4.5-mile course, or double the challenge with two laps for 9 miles! Run, walk, or roll using the method that works best for you, with adaptive support available throughout the course.

NEW THIS YEAR: A dedicated wheelchair division offers additional competition structure and support for athletes using wheelchairs.

As a small non-profit organization, IM ABLE relies on community support to continue removing barriers to physical activity. Our impact is tangible: adaptive equipment placed in people’s hands, inclusive fitness programs, meaningful opportunities for veterans, and events where athletes with and without disabilities participate side by side.

Over the years, our work has helped increase accessibility, challenge perceptions, and create a more inclusive culture, but we continue to do the most with limited resources.
