A little history lesson from Rotary International.

In 1931, 44 years before Rotary Youth Exchange became an official program, a group of young men from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England, traveled to Hamburg, Germany.

They toured the city, visited local institutions, and connected with Rotary members abroad. Experiences like these — documented in programs like this one from Rotary's archives — laid the groundwork for the cultural exchange, global friendships, and international understanding that continue to define Rotary Youth Exchange today 💛

Cam was front and center with her host sister learning the winter forecast this morning. Six more weeks of winter if you didn’t already hear.

Today we installed a peace pole representing the languages spoken in the home countries of the 2025-26 exchange students in D7430. The Rotary Youth Exchange program is building world peace one student at a time. Thanks to Cam and Linda for being part of the assembly. Thanks to Norm for the labor to make it secure. And thanks to D7430 RYE for making this a reality. We will have an official dedication ceremony in the spring.
