🌱 Remote Fridays are coming to The Center!

Beginning this Friday, September 4, the Wyoming Fine Arts Center office will be going remote every Friday as part of our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental impact.

While our offices won't be physically open, our staff will still be available remotely from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.

By reducing energy use, fossil fuel emissions, and our overall carbon footprint, this small change is one more way we can work toward a more sustainable future. 🌎💚

Monday–Thursday: In Office | 10 AM–4 PM
Friday: Remote Office | 10 AM–4 PM

Thank you for supporting us as we make The Center a little greener! 🌿

Fun fact:

Did you know last year’s Mum Sale raised nearly $5,000? This fundraiser allowed us to fund a play area renovation for Valley Interfaith Community Resource Center, workshops and camps for the Wyoming Fine Arts Center, a kickoff event for The Cure Starts Now, and camps for underserved youth at Camp Joy. We’re hoping to see this year’s fundraiser be even more of a success!

New this year, you can also purchase ornamental peppers, purple fountain grass, and ornamental brassica. If you’d like to place an order for mums and fall plants, visit jwcwyoming.org and click on the Mum Sale tab. All orders must be placed by September 17. Free delivery within Wyoming will take place on September 27.

Former Mayor of City of Wyoming David Savage stopped by to show us his newest handmade instrument: a rebec!

If you didn’t know: a rebec is an old wooden musical instrument from the Middle Ages and early Renaissance. It’s an early ancestor of the modern violin, and is usually played with a bow. It’s often carved from a single piece of wood. David demonstrated his instrument for us and it sounds great!

Interesting things are happening around Wyoming Fine Arts Center all the time. We hope to see you here soon!

🎭 Fall Youth Musical Theatre is coming to WFAC!

This September, young performers will take the stage in partnership with American Legacy Theatre's professional teaching artists — learning roles, songs, and dialogue, and helping build the costumes and sets for a full production of their own.

Elementary School (Grades 2–5): Sleeping Beauty
Thursdays, 3:45–5:15 p.m. | September 17 – December 13
Fifth graders get the chance to step into leadership roles within the ensemble before moving up to Middle School Theatre next year.

Middle School (Grades 5–8): The Wizard of Oz
Mondays, 3:15–4:45 p.m. | September 14 – December 13
Scheduled to avoid conflicts with the Wyoming Middle School theatre program, so students can do both if they'd like.

Both groups rehearse all fall and perform for family and friends on Sunday, December 13.

📅 Registration deadline: September 10, 2026
💵 $195

🎨🎶 NEW at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center: Homeschool Art + Music!

We’re excited to launch a new Friday arts program created especially for homeschool students!

Students can enroll in Art, Music, or BOTH, with curriculum designed by qualified teachers around clear learning goals for each semester. Instruction builds skills and knowledge from week to week, while still leaving plenty of room for creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning.

And there’s a bonus! Students enrolled in Homeschool Art and/or Music receive 10% off private music lessons at WFAC for as long as they remain enrolled in the homeschool program.

We’re excited to give homeschool families another way to make high-quality arts education part of their school week and become part of the creative community here at the Center.

📅 Classes begin Friday, September 18!
Registration closes September 15, so don’t miss your chance to join us.

TONIGHT! Spend a summer evening with FREE live classical chamber music on the Wyoming Village Green, starting at 7:00 PM. OLEA Ensemble — clarinet, violin, and piano — brings an imaginative, community-centered approach to the concert experience, with a focus on living composers and music being written right now. We're thrilled to welcome them as friends of WFAC: clarinetist Kate Kilgus is a member of our teaching faculty. This free outdoor concert is co-hosted by the City of Wyoming Wyoming Ohio and Wyoming Fine Arts Center.

About OLEA Ensemble:

“Not only inspiring, but refreshing” (I Care if You Listen), OLEA Ensemble envisions a future in which the transformative power of chamber music can be used as a model for healthy connection and collaboration in all facets of society. OLEA’s mission is to foster community connections through innovative curation of new music. Founded in 2021, OLEA is dually based in Chicago and Cincinnati, performing regularly across the Midwest. Members include Kate Kilgus (clarinet), Alayne Honaker (violin), and Marissa Kerbel (piano).
