🏅📚 Celebrating John Steinbeck and His Literary Legacy!

On October 25, 1962, John Steinbeck was announced as the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature, recognizing his remarkable contributions to storytelling.

Today, 64 years later, his stories continue to inspire readers, spark conversations, and find new audiences.

And what a year 2026 has been for Steinbeck’s legacy!

📖 His book America and Americans celebrates its 60th publication anniversary.

🎬 His classic East of Eden has returned to the spotlight with a new Netflix series released earlier this month.

📚 His novels, including Of Mice and Men, The Grapes of Wrath, and Cannery Row, continue to be read and discussed generations after they were written.

At the Worthington - West Franklin Community Library, we’re celebrating by highlighting several of his works from our collection.

💬 We’d love to hear from you!

Did you first discover John Steinbeck in school, through a movie or television adaptation, or by picking up one of his books on your own?

Which Steinbeck story has stayed with you the most?

Share your memories or recommendations in the comments! 👇

🎬📚 The Book or the Movie? Let’s Talk!

Today marks one year since the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Regretting You was released in theaters!

And with It Ends with Us and Verity also bringing Hoover’s storytelling to the screen, it’s a great time for a little book-versus-movie conversation.

We have several of her novels at the Worthington - West Franklin Community Library, including the stories behind these adaptations!

💬 Here’s our question for you:

Are you Team Read the Book First 📖 or Team Watch the Movie First 🎬?

And if you’ve experienced both versions of a story, which did you enjoy more?

Tell us in the comments! 👇

Stop by the library to discover your next read or revisit a favorite before watching its movie adaptation.

💙 Even if you can’t visit, you can support the Worthington - West Franklin Community Library by following our page and sharing our posts. Every share helps our library reach more readers!
