It is "Did You Know Day" at Nobles County Art Center! Did you know the Annual Area Art Show is going on now until the end of June and it is the 66th annual show? Did you know anyone, any age, living in or within 100 miles of Worthington can enter? Did you know we have a judge each year who decides the winners of the awards, this year $750 dollars of award money was given out, and another $50 is up for grabs, the peoples choice award, come in and vote for the piece you think should win. Did you know that this year is the year with the most entries ever? 99. Did you know this is the first Annual Area Art Show in the newly renovated Art Center gallery? Did you know that part of the renovations is a new classroom? Did you know we offer a variety of classes? Did you know that the Art Center is in the lower level of the War Memorial building at the corner of 4th Ave &12th St. Worthington MN. Did you know the hours are weekdays 12 - 4pm except Thurs.- 3-7pm. closed holidays. Did you know you are welcome to come in and look around, always free admission, see you soon?

Art Club is always fun but this May the 28th was extra fun because Bob & Mary Miller shared their special day with us. 49th Anniversary. In their photo you can see the hand picked flowers he brought in for her. How Romantic! Then look at all the creative things people thought of to do with the "Paper Mache" theme. Oh, and join us for next month Art Club, June 25th at 5:30. The theme is "Weather".

The Art Center recently acquired a TV that we can use in our class room. We have several art instruction/art class DVDs but no DVD player. If you have one you are not using any more and would be willing to donate to us, please do. Thanks!!!

One week till Art Club. Do you have your Paper Mache' theme project ready to show? Even if you do not, please join the group and have fun looking at what other people thought of. It is always fun to see what creative ideas people come up with. May 28th, 5:30 in the Art Center. 407 12th St. Worthington.

"Embellishing Fun" is coming soon. May 30th, a Saturday morning of putting lots of tiny trinket treasures on a printed canvas of your choice. You can also decorate or paint the frame that is included, a 12 1/2 by 16 1/2. Stop into the Art Center to see the examples and choices and to get more information. Or call 507-295-3533.

Did you miss the opening reception of the Area Art Show? The show will be on display in the gallery through June 30th. There are 99 works of art in this incredible event. David Strom of Windom won the Best of Show award.
