The Chamber Music Connection We are a chamber music program in Central Ohio dedicated to sharing the joys of chamber music with students of all ages and abilities! Join our email list!

See our website for more info and to register for upcoming programs: chambermusicconnection.org The Chamber Music Connection (CMC), located in Worthington, Ohio, provides an environment where student musicians of all ages and levels of experience can study and perform chamber music. CMC is a non-profit, performance-based, and equal opportunity educational program, Founder and Artistic Director Deb

orah Barrett Price—better known to students and faculty as Debbie—has maintained a policy of “no audition required” since starting the program in 1992. Students who apply to CMC are primarily string, piano, and woodwind players, but CMC accepts all types of instrumentalists and vocalists. Ensembles are formed based on age, previous experience, and their potential to learn from—and inspire—one another. Students must collaborate to achieve their musical goals. CMC is a place where people, music, and life connect. https://cmconnection.dm.networkforgood.com/forms/mailing-list-sign-up

Sotto is a 3rd year fellow who joined CMC in 8th grade with encouragement from his sister, a flutist and CMC fellow alumna.
An accomplished chamber musician and co-founder of the Student Music Initiative for Local Elderly (SMILE), he has earned national recognition with the Lumen and Solace String Quartets at the Saint Paul and Rembrandt Chamber Competitions, while bringing outreach performances to 15+ senior communities across central Ohio. This fall, Sotto will attend Emory University to study neuroscience and hopes to continue music through the university orchestra.

Meet the soloist: Josiah Tugaoen!

Josiah Tugaoen, a homeschooled senior in high school, found his love for the cello when he was six years old, following his older brothers’ passion for music. He joined CMC in 2017 and has been a core member of the fellowship program since 2022 under the direction of Deborah Price. He has been a member of the Lumen and Solace String Quartets, where he competed in several regional and national chamber music competitions. In 2025 Josiah cofounded SMILE, the Student Music Initiative for Local Elderly, alongside two fellow CMC students, bringing live chamber music to senior living communities around Columbus. Outside of CMC, he is a member of the New Albany Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Luis Biava and Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the former of which he served as the principal cellist since 2025 with director Elias Miller. Josiah currently studies with Columbus Symphony cellist Pei-An Chao, and he performs on a cello made by himself and his father, completed in 2025.
