Mark your calendars for two local events that commemorate National Recovery Month. We will be joining the first annual Rally 4 Recovery in Washington County, which will take place Saturday, September 12, at the URI Quad 12-3 p.m. Stop by our table and learn more about the services we provide to people who are using substances as well as helping them with recovery when they're ready. In addition, the 23rd annual Rally 4 Recovery RI will take place Saturday, September 19, at 195 District Park in downtown Providence 12-4 p.m.

Both evernts are family friendly and bring communities together to break the stigma around substance use and support and celebrate those on their recovery journies. Stop by either event for fun, food, entertainment, and connection to many helpful resources. 💜

With a new school year upon us, it's a perfect time to remind parents in West Warwick and Woonsocket that Thundermist operates school based health centers in both communities!

In West Warwick, the health center (known as a "Health Hut") is based at Deering Middle School but is open to West Warwick High School students, as well. In Woonsocket, there are Health Huts at Villa Nova Middle School (open to Hamlet Middle School students) and Woonsocket High.

Health Huts provide students many services, including physicals, vaccinations, mental health services, and more! Students do not need to be Thundermist patients to use the Health Hut. Parents/Guardians must complete a consent form before their child can get care. For the forms and more info, visit our website:

With summer almost over, National Immunization Awareness Month spotlights how vaccines help teens prepare for middle school, high school, and adulthood.

Vaccines protect students against contagious diseases like measles, mumps, rubella, polio, whooping cough, and others. For this new school year, talk to your child’s doctor about up-to-date routine vaccinations and any questions you may have. Following the recommended immunization schedule helps protect all students at school and their families at home, especially babies, older adults, and people with certain health conditions.
