Young Life Salem County

Young Life Salem County Young Life doesn't start with a program.

It starts with young adults who care for teens enough to enter into their world, walk alongside them in their questions, and share the endless love of Jesus with them.

Do you have yard work you've been putting off? We can help! We have high school students who are willing to work to be able to fundraise for their Summer Camp trip this July! A leader would bring a few teens (depending on the size of the job) and get the work done! Message us if you have any yard work and we can talk details.

In Young Life's RELATE Project research, Gen Z students were asked "What do you wish older generations knew about you?"

The most common responses were as follows:

- β€œI leave out or exclude some aspects of myself, or pretend to be someone else, for fear of being judged or rejected.”

- "Just because we [Gen Zers] are in the same generation, doesn't mean we're all the same."

- "I want to believe that my value is not solely in what I can produce or achieve."

- "Am I enough?"

- "Many things in the world around me feel unstable and I feel the need to be self-sufficient but I'm still just a kid."

Whether you're a parent, a teacher, a volunteer, a coach, or just someone who cares about this next generation, this information is powerful in bridging generational gaps.

Young Life leaders care deeply about the thoughts and feelings that teens are wrestling with. We aim to equip teens with the conversation and friendship to navigate the seasons they are walking through. We're glad you're here, investing in the next generation with us!

Happy New Year friends!

2025, you were full of transformation, laughter, and moments that rooted us deeper in faith and community. 🌲

From club to camp to the golf tournament, God showed up in powerful ways. We raised over $40,000 in these last 5 weeks, thanks to YOU and your generosity!

We’re expectant and grateful as we enter 2026, that the Lord will continue the good work He has started.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6

Merry Christmas! May you and your family celebrate the source of all hope, peace, and joy this Christmas. We celebrate that kids are able to be introduced to the Prince of Peace, an Everlasting Father, their Mighty God. Such hopeful words spoken to a world that desperately searches for hope.

Thank you for making it a wonderful year of proclaiming hope.

Meet one of our volunteer leaders, Katie!

Katie is a current Young Life leader to high schoolers in Pennsville and has previously served as a WyldLife leader with middle school! Whether it's been through showing up to cheer competitions or giving countless car rides with Taco Bell stops, Katie has been a steady presence in the lives of teens. She shows up, cares, takes interest in, and roots for kids, all while living out the sacrificial love of Jesus that has so radically changed her life.

We're grateful for our 26 volunteers across the county that give their time, energy, and resources to make sure kids feel seen and loved.

"The first night I went to Young Life is still the best night of my life."

That sentence holds a lot of weight, but it's not about Young Life.

That quote was not directed towards the dance parties at club, though YL has a fair amount of those.

It wasn't about the crazy games, although those definitely happen as well.

It wasn't about the songs sung or even how friendly the leaders were.

Whether this student realized it or not, this quote was about encountering the gospel. The gospel, the greatest love story ever told, changes lives. The gospel is what sets Young Life apart from just "a good time". There's purpose and meaning behind what's done and how it's done. Young Life simply gets to be a tool by which the gospel is shared and lived out among teens. This student came face-to-face with the gospel that night, and he walked away different. And we're so grateful you're here to see behind the scenes on moments and stories like this.

Help us further the reach and tell more kids about the good news of the gospel by partnering with us TOMORROW for Giving Tuesday! Your gift could go FAR in the life of a kid!
