“Today marks one year since I saw you. it would be silly to try to put into words the complex string of emotions I have felt today, or realistically, most of this year. the little things that people say they miss when they lose someone close are things I have been mourning for years already. it’s been years since she could answer the phone, visit her animal friends at the farm or enjoy some weird culinary concoction I made. Those feelings of wanting to share things, however, do not fade. whenever we were able to facetime, she was always ripe with questions about which animal needed more help, how her buddy Shrimp was doing, or laughing at what stupid thing I did to give myself a fresh injury. there has been so much this year I wish I could share with her, and I almost forget she’s gone until that moment when it sets in, like a reopening of a wound I didn’t think I still had. If I could pierce the veil and ask her one more question, it would probably be “are you proud of me?” I have tried, frequently unsuccessfully, to lead by her example, to treat everyone with kindness, compassion and always a helping hand. and now here, at the door of the new medical barn, Sharon will forever be a part of Rancho Relaxo and we, as stewards of her legacy, will always remember that her determination and kindness despite the circumstances of her condition will forever inspire us. - Len”
Today, we planted a tree in honor of Sharon in front of the medical barn that is being renovated in her honor. 💜
We still have so many supplies that we need to fill this barn. If you would like to purchase something off of the list, click here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2ZOKCWUMRV8AG?ref_=wl_share
Thank you all so much for the love and support. We think Sharon would have absolutely loved this dedication in her name.
