Thank you to the Boston College Women’s Ice Hockey players who came to visit us at Nick’s House Boston today! We are so excited to work with you again this season for the HEADstrong Foundation Hockey Attacks Cancer campaign to support families affected by cancer! 🎗️🏒 💚💙

Shoutout to Boston Program & Patient Services Director Ashley Parys and BC Ice Hockey alum and now HEADstrong intern Kara Goulding for coordinating such a great trip. We love bringing Attack Cancer athletes to Nick’s House so they can see the impact they’ve made!

October is not just a month to wear pink, it’s a month to really understand WHY we wear pink in honor of those affected by breast cancer.

That is what Deana Jespersen made sure was the ultimate message when she opened The Hope Venture Fund with the HEADstrong Foundation. Deana was a collegiate head volleyball coach, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a mentor and an incredible advocate for women who faced the challenges that come with a breast cancer diagnosis. She opened this fund to share her story and help others going through similar circumstances. Deana is incredibly special and she inspired and impacted so many. We miss her and we will continue to grow what she built with Hope Venture alongside her wonderful family, friends, and the volleyball and athletics community she loved so dearly. This month we kickoff the Hope Venture Pink Out Campaign benefitting our mission and the patients we serve. We also will honor Deana’s legacy alongside multiple collegiate and high school volleyball teams and Rowan University teams. Let’s come together this month and be loud about , honoring and remembering Deana, and loved ones who’ve battled breast cancer. We are teammates to them in their fight and we will not just wear pink but understand it’s more than just a pretty color - it’s a movement and a message to raise awareness and to tell those affected by breast cancer that we see them and support them every day.

Join us in spreading this message, campaigning, and honoring those affected by breast cancer this October.

Happy National Field Hockey Day! 🏑 💚 We are constantly in awe of the field hockey community that continues to rally around HEADstrong each and every day. Today we celebrate every athlete, coach, and program who has made a difference within this amazing sport, growing the game, and growing our mission alongside it. Thank you for being so welcoming and for going above and beyond for the patients and families we serve.

A truly special day at Nick’s House. 💚🩷

Today, we gathered to honor and celebrate the life of Deana Jespersen with her family, friends, coaches, and the Rowan Women’s Volleyball team.

Together, we dedicated a porch swing in her memory, shared stories, laughed, cried, and reflected on Deana’s legacy and her support of the HEADstrong Foundation. The Rowan volleyball team expressed their love for Coach Deana by painting rocks for the Hope Venture rock garden.

Today was a powerful moment we take with us as we kickoff the Hope Venture Pink Out campaign this fall, an initiative that Deana led through her incredible community to raise support and awareness for families affected by breast cancer and shedding light on the meaning behind “Why We Wear Pink.” Together the Hope Venture community will honor Deana and continue her incredible legacy.
