Once again MOPHA Unit 385, Folsom CA, gave out our Valentine “Cupcake Socks”. We had a total of 165. They were handed out in different areas of the clinic as well as for hospital patients. They are always a big hit with the veterans. We made some especially for women Vets. We see surprised looks and some giggles! We’ve been doing this for about 7 years! Most all the socks were donated by Bombas to Eldorado Stand Down who in turn donated to us, and candy suckers donated by Sees Candy.

Folsom CA Chapter and Unit 385 had their holiday dinner December 10th at the Cattlemens Restaurant. It was a great evening with great food, steak, crab, lobster and super deserts!! The Auxiliary held its yearly raffle which is always fun. The Auxiliary presented Unit President Penny Hankins with an appreciation award for past three years of service above and beyond! Each Patriot was given an ornament that said MOPH and each guest was given a reindeer or a snowman ornament. This was our last celebration as our chapter will be closing in April. I will miss seeing everyone as we have all made some great friends!💜🇺🇸 Happy Holidays and Hapoy New Year to all! 🥂🥳

Unit 385, Folsom CA attended Mather VA Stand Down sponsored by Volunteers of America on Oct 1st. It was a great turn out with breakfast and lunch provided. We gave out about 30 of our hand made laundry bags with a small box of Tide detergent with each. We also had booklets on our constitution, flag etiquette, MOPHA info, bottled water and decks of playing cards. The bags went fast. We will be making more! Loved taking to all the veterans and hearing their stories!

On behalf of Unit 385, I had the pleasure of attending Victory Villages Sunset Dinner. This is an annual fundraiser for veterans. Victory Village was founded in 2011 by Nichole and Jason Mulford. Jason is a Marine Corps Purple Heart Veteran. Victory Village helps with many resources for veterans; housing and employment to name a couple. Unit 385 made a HOV Grant donation of $250.00. It was a great evening of auctions and raffles.
