We are the community-led nonprofit supporting the South Washington County School District community. Thank you so much for your generosity!

The goal of SoWashCo CARES (Community Action Reaching Every Student) is to have our community help our community! This page will post requests for specific items to help our students and families in need in South Washington County. Requested items could include food, clothes, toiletries, gas cards etc... The items can be dropped off at the school and will go directly to the students/families who need it!

Thank you to the Skoolie Storytime readers from this summer!
We loved seeing which fun books were picked out for the evening and seeing all of the kids gather around to listen.

We also had seven authors who read us their books! What a cool experience for our young learners meet an author and hear from them about how they became an author!

This is what it looks like to !

Did you know that SoWashCo CARES is the affiliate partner of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for our community?

Any child from birth until 5 years old can receive a free book each month. SoWashCo CARES pays for the shipping, and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library does the rest! This program is currently only available in Newport, but we are hoping to expand to St. Paul Park soon!

On September 25, Give Like Dolly Day, you can help us reach even more future SoWashCo Schools students. Every gift helps us continue building a community where children can grow up surrounded by the joy of books and reading.

Help us make an even bigger impact for the students of SoWashCo:

Our friends at Woodbury Rotary Club are looking for students and their parents who would like to explore the opportunity to study/live abroad to practice their language skills. Rotary Youth Exchange offers both a one month abroad opportunity and the chance to live in a foreign country for one academic year. This introductory session is free and will be a chance to learn about this well established program and have questions answered.
Come learn more on September 22 at Central Park from 6:30-7:30pm!
