We test for bacteria and nitrate pollution in streams across our watershed every month from April to October. Our next Volunteer Stream Sampling Program will be Wednesday, July 8 from 8:30am-11:30am. To learn more and sign up to sample with us, visit pomperaug.org/events! 🧪

We had the best time at our Learn to Paddle & Waterski program this weekend with our friends at LOF Adaptive Skiers! We had perfect weather and lots of fun both on and off the water. ☀ Thank you to all who joined us and helped make this such a great event! 🛶

Just one week to go until our first water chestnut pull of the season! 🛶 Last year, we were successful in removing nearly 10,000 lbs. of this invasive aquatic plant from Lake Stibbs in Southbury with support from community volunteers. 🌟 This summer, we hope to double that impact to protect water quality and wildlife, and WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🐟🐢🦆

Our stream temperature data loggers have been placed! 🥳 Each spring, we place small data loggers in concrete blocks and sink them to the bottom of local streams to measure hourly stream temperature from May to October. We share the data we collect with the State to help identify and protect critical cold-water habitat for native brook trout. 🐟

Behind every successful nonprofit is a group of people willing to roll up their sleeves and do the work.

💧Planning. Fundraising. Advocating. Showing up at meetings. Making calls. Solving problems. Believing in something bigger than themselves.

💧One of the most meaningful moments from Saturday night’s PRWC Gala was seeing the entire Board of Directors together in one room (and garden!) with 100% participation.

These dedicated volunteers give their time, talent, energy, and leadership to help protect the rivers, streams, and drinking water that connect our communities. Their commitment, along with the incredible support of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees, helped PRWC reach its must-have fundraising goal for the Three Rivers Project.

Water connects us all.
And so does community.
