As an Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Munroe-Meyer Institute, Amy brings valuable expertise in research, evaluation, and community partnerships. Welcome Dr. David Hoelting to the WHF Board of Directors!

Dr. Hoelting brings decades of medical expertise and community service to the organization. A retired physician with an active license, he continues to volunteer and share his healthcare knowledge with the community. He has also served in leadership roles on the Pender City Board, the Nebraska Governor’s Nuclear Waste Advisory Board, and the NAFP Board.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Hoelting and look forward to the experience and insight he will bring in supporting WHF’s mission!

Welcome William Bass to the WHF Board of Directors!

William is deeply committed to serving the Winnebago community and promoting the health and wellness of Tribal members. He actively supports initiatives that strengthen the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the community and has participated in community health assessments and strategic planning efforts. William also brings valuable leadership experience through his service on several boards, reflecting his dedication to programs and decisions that support the well-being and future of the Winnebago community.

We were delighted to be able to present former WHF Board Member Pat Hubbard a Certificate of Appreciation and a pillow with a star quilt panel in gratitude for the generous gifts of her time, talent, and treasure in support of WHF over the past 3+ years.

Gifts were presented by WHF Board Chair Danelle Smith and staff member Linda Santi on behalf of the Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System and the WHF Board.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on this cold Thursday morning for Coffee Talks with Ho-Chunk, Inc. at SweetWater Café in Winnebago.

Our Objectives:

• Support fundraising efforts that address ongoing financial challenges in healthcare.
• Reduce health disparities within the Winnebago community.
• Increase access to comprehensive, high-quality healthcare programs and services.
• Invest in resources and lead strategies that educate, empower, and sustain healthier communities.
• Expand educational opportunities by offering scholarships and paid internships for those pursuing careers in health.
• Develop training programs in partnership with health professional schools to mentor and inspire youth interested in health-science degrees.

Together, we can ensure that our integrated approach to healthcare goes beyond treating illness—helping Native Americans in our communities become champions of prevention, wellness, and long-term health. 💙

Congratulations to Mia Regalado, a 2025 Winnebago Health Foundation Scholarship recipient! Mia, an enrolled member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, is an EMS trainee at WCHS and a student at Western Iowa Tech Community College pursuing her Associate of Applied Science in Paramedicine.
