The CDFI finished up the Native American Agriculture Fund Youth grant last month. A component of the grant was the match savings program for Native Youth, at the end participants had 4 specific purposes they had to identify to utilize their savings and our 5-1 match: Education, Seed $ for starting a small ag business, transportation for higher education or continued savings in a higher yield CD or investment. The breakdown of how funds were deployed are below.

$21,600 College Education
$18,000 CD (Certificate of Deposit minimum 6 months)
$3,600 Vehicle Purchase

Those that chose the CD we are looking to connect to a financial advisor upon completion and hopeful that this opportunity changed mindset and look at transitioning mindset from saving to investments.
