Today was another opportunity to meet with some recent winners and reward them for their accurate AAA gas price predictions!

First, it was Harrison back at the exact pump where we first met, claiming his second fill-up since this contest kicked off just a couple of weeks ago. With our Pride loyalty rewards, we filled his truck at just $3.589 per gallon…not too shabby!

Then it was across the street to meet with Mike, who claimed our final $50 lotto scratcher prize following his price match yesterday

Finally, it was back over to the Mobil to meet with Guadalupe, where I helped her also sign up for the Pride loyalty program before topping off her 2012 Toyota Camry. This isn’t Guadalupe’s first rodeo with us - you can find her on our page last September when she matched AAA and won $100!

While all of the lotto scratchers have been distributed, we’ll keep pumping until we’ve given away $1,000 in free gas or reach the end of September, whichever comes first.

And don’t forget, we’re also still looking for a winner in our Labor Day Gas Challenge, where one lucky follower could be meeting with me for a $500 cash payout!

Last weekend, Harrison and I met back up at the Pride Mobil gas station in Wheaton, where we first met in May before he won our Memorial Day Gas Challenge.

During our latest meeting, not only did he enter our new Labor Day Gas Challenge, but he also received his first promotional gas fill-up in his 2007 Chevy Avalanche. With its 31-gallon tank, we learned together that the Pride Loyalty Program 50¢-off promotion maxes out at 20 gallons—but we still saved $10 on his first fill-up with this excellent perk..

Although I’ve never watched “Tiger King” on Netflix, I couldn’t help but think of the “I am never going to recover financially from this” meme when I remembered that Harrison’s commute from his home in Round Lake Beach to his place of work in Wheaton is nearly 90 miles round trip in this beast of a vehicle. Since his truck has a thirsty V-8 engine rated at only 13–16 miles per gallon, something tells me we’ll be meeting again in the near future for another fill-up… and then probably a few more still before this promotion officially concludes next month.

That’s alright, though. I can’t think of a nicer gentleman to benefit from this offer. In fact, as soon as I sent him our picture at the pump, he took it upon himself to post it on his own page to help spread the word.

What a great guy!

Our Summer Gas Challenge is currently underway with other great prizes still up for grabs, but as they say, “cash is king,” so let’s see if we can find another winner with a special Labor Day Gas Challenge!

Labor Day is right around the corner, and while we celebrate our workers and their many achievements, let’s also see if we can predict the price of gas for a chance to win up to $500 in cash. After you “like” this post, comment with your AAA national average gas price prediction for Labor Day (Monday, September 7) and you could be meeting with me that day to get paid!

Along with your price prediction, tell us about your “labor of love.” For me, it’s helping people unlock value and identify opportunities they may not otherwise recognize—which is how Carma Services came into being.

For you, it might be serving your family, church or community, pursuing a hobby, or simply doing something you love even when there’s nothing tangible to gain in return.

Complete contest rules can be found in the comments below.
Good luck!

Antonio and I first met last fall at the Carol Stream Pride BP when he was filling up a 1999 Lexus, which is absolutely considered a Carma Car because it is worth well under $10K. While this Lexus didn’t belong to Antonio, he did take my card and I pointed out the $100 referral bonus on the back should the owner be looking to sell in the future.

Well, last month Carma Services closed the sale for this Lexus and Antonio was able to collect his referral bonus before entering our Summer Gas Challenge at the BP where we first met nearly a year ago.

With any luck, we will be meeting there again soon if AAA publishes Antonio’s predicted gas price in the coming days. Unlike our gas challenges, a referral is simply a matter of identifying a local Carma Car in need of a new home and sending them our way. Once we close the deal with our “full-service” selling offer you get paid and the next one we close will pay $500!

Speaking of $500, the owner of the Lexus made a $500 donation to the Wheaton Christian Center just a few blocks from where this picture was taken as a result of her generous heart and the generous offer obtained with our help!

Now that’s gotta be some good Carma!

If you like a good deal, check this one out…

To celebrate 50 years in business, The Pride Stores has put together one heck of a promotion through their new Pride Points loyalty program.

Simply sign up, and you’ll automatically receive 50¢ off per gallon on your next four fill-ups. You’ll also receive a free drink during each of those visits, and one lucky participant who joins the program this month will win free gas for a year.

If your average fill-up is 10–15 gallons, this promotion could easily save you $20–$30 for just a couple of minutes spent creating an online profile. That’s a pretty solid return on investment.

With gas prices significantly higher than they were earlier this year, maybe this offer can help take some of the sting out of your next few trips to the pump.

Speaking of gas prices…

You can also still enter our latest Carma Services Gas Challenge when you meet with me at a local gas station. This month’s challenge includes $1,000 in free gas and up to $250 in lottery scratch-off tickets for participants who correctly predict AAA’s published national average gas price.

Can’t meet with me in person? You can still enter online for your chance to win the lottery scratch-off prizes.

When is summer over?

For my kids, it’s in a few weeks when school is back in session. A meteorologist might say September 1st. Others still might believe it’s Labor Day, or when the pools are closed for the season.

This gas contest is looking for our entrants to tell us not only the price of gas, but also when they think we officially put the summer behind us and start looking forward to pumpkin spice and the crisp cool days ahead.

For entrants who own a vehicle that fits our selling model, also known as a Carma Car, you can win up to $500 in free gas when you match AAA’s published gas price with this new twist on our popular gas challenge. You will need to meet with me publicly to enter, but with $1000 in total gas up for grabs, it may be well worth your time! More details in the comments to see if your ride qualifies and how to find me during this contest’s entry period.

For those of you who do not have a qualifying vehicle or can’t meet with me, you can still remotely participate in this contest for your chance at 1 of five $50 lotto tickets that will be available when you “like” this post, comment telling us when summer is officially over for you and match AAA’s gas price. The first gas price we are looking for is Monday, August 10th and then we will keep guessing each day until all of the lotto tickets have been claimed or we have given away $1000 in gas to our most devoted followers.

Just because our Fourth of July contest winner never came forward to collect their cash, that doesn’t mean we can’t give honorable mention to our past winner, Sandy B., who came exactly ONE HALF OF A CENT from winning her third gas challenge and second $500 grand prize!

Upon realizing this, it reminded me of another time Sandy came close to “winning” with Carma Services that actually pertains to the business we specialize in: selling Carma Cars. It’s a story that has been in the hopper for a couple of summers now, so here is the long and the short of it.

After contacting me, Sandy took her sporty 2012 Kia Optima SX to CarMax, where she was offered $5,000. She then asked me to list the Kia for sale on her behalf to see how much better Carma could do as a private party sale.

Well, within a matter of days we had our first appointment and test drive, followed by an offer to buy it from her, right there in her very own driveway, for $8,000!

Unfortunately, Sandy was not scheduled to pick up her new car for a few more days, so she declined this offer a few hundred below our asking price of $8700. She did appreciate that this was a solid offer and said that she would gladly accept it after she brought home the new vehicle, but by the time she was ready to sell, the prospective buyer had already purchased another vehicle and this generous offer was off the table.

In retrospect, I should have offered to be her personal Uber for a few days (or cover the expense of finding temporary transportation out of my commission) because $8K was a terrific offer that would have been our best selling story to date. That’s okay, because since then we have captured more, and even better, selling stories still to tell and other deals now in the works that could provide more content and donations in the near future.

Oh, and we are just hours away from launching a new contest with even more ways to win with Carma Services. Be sure to check back soon so you can join us!

Yesterday wasn’t just Memorial Day, it was also Harrison’s day!

His successful gas price prediction helped us break our two day streak of nobody matching AAA’s published price in the Memorial Day Weekend Gas Challenge. Luckily for Harrison that allowed the jackpot to grow to a respectable $300!

Although Harrison’s schedule won’t permit him to meet with me today for another shot at a cash prize, maybe you can! Today will be the last day to enter this contest, and even though this next prize, at $200, is a bit smaller than Harrison’s winnings, it still might be worth saying “hello” if you see me hanging out at a gas station later this afternoon.

If you missed the chance to enter today, stick around because in June we will be opening our Fourth of July Gas Challenge where someone can win up to $500 with a successful gas price prediction!
