📜 Course Trivia: Did you know Decatur Country Club traces its roots back to Mr. and T. Charles Powers? They introduced golf to the local community by playing on a cow pasture (now known as John's Hill Park) before petitioning the State of Illinois to charter the official country club. From cow pasture to premier greens! 🐄➡️⛳️

🏌️‍♂️ The Big Test: Make sure you stretch before Hole 16! It’s the longest test on the course, a monster par-5 stretching out to 592 yards. Who is going for the green in two? 💪

What an unforgettable afternoon at Seven Bridges Golf Course! ⛳️

Between navigating a rowdy public group ahead of us, trying to drive quietly past a live wedding right off the 10th tee box, and racing the rapidly sinking sun, it was an adventure from start to finish. 😅

Against all odds, we managed to get every single group into the clubhouse just as the light faded. That stunning sunset ended up being the absolute perfect backdrop for our post-round awards! 🌅🏆 Shoutout to our Tournament Director, who looked like he couldn't find the nearest exit fast enough but heroically hung in there to see it through. 🏃‍♂️💨

🔥 OCTOBER HEAT & MJ’S OLD STOMPING GROUNDS! 🐐 VGA Illinois Tees It Up at Seven Bridges! 🏀⛳️

30 players are teeing it up on this unusually warm October Saturday (High 81°F! ☀️) for another incredible VGA Illinois event! The forecast calls for partly cloudy morning skies shifting to an overcast afternoon with a 10-15 mph SSE breeze 🌬️, perfect conditions to (hopefully not) pump some golf balls into the water! 💦🏌️‍♂️

We are playing the beautiful Seven Bridges Golf Club, former host site of Michael Jordan’s Charity Classic! 🐐🏀 It’s a tale of two nines today: The front nine (Helios 🌳) offers a classic parkland layout with mature trees and wetlands. But brace yourselves for the back nine (Poseidon 🔱)... a tight, water-heavy gauntlet featuring hazards on 14 holes and a notoriously challenging stretch known as the "Bermuda Triangle." 📐🌊 True to its name, players will cross at least 7 bridges winding over the DuPage River and surrounding streams today! 🌉

💯 MILESTONE ALERT: A massive congratulations to Tournament Director and VGA Illinois Assistant Director Jeff Loper, who is teeing it up for his 100th VGA event today! Thank you for your leadership and dedication to the chapter, Jeff! 👏👏
