World Wide Knit in Public Day is Saturday, June 13th. Let's Show our community that we are proud to be knitters! Lighthouse Knitting Guild of Maine will be at the Veteran's Memorial Park in Raymond (1298 Roosevelt Trail) just across from Good Life Market.

Worldwide Knit in Public Day has been celebrated every year since 2005 in communities both large and small in the US and abroad.
For our celebration, we will have a gazebo (or canopy if the gazebo is not available) set up in the park. You can park your car in the main parking lot. Overflow parking will be available at the Good Life Market. The Market will also be available for bathroom trips, or to purchase a beverage or yummy snack/meal! You will need to bring your own chair and of course, your knitting! Come join us! If the weather looks ugly, cancellation info will be posted on our website, our page, our Ravelry page and in an email to members.

Members- we will also be distributing the mini-skeins for our Maine Fibershed project. Stop by to pick out your favorite to participate in the August KAL.

Have you started planning your knitted "chicken project" yet? đŸ„

Hey there crafty peeps! đŸ„ the running theme through this year’s fair will be the “wonderful world of poultry!”
You could rule the roost with your Exhibition Hall entries of paintings, photographs, knit items, sewing, quilting- the possibilities are endless! Don’t chicken out - get those poultry pieces ready for entry! No need to put all your eggs in one basket - you can enter multiple items!!! Who knows - you might create something as rare as hens teeth!
We’ll all be walking on eggshells until the entries are judged!!!

MEETING REMINDER
Saturday, May 2nd
12:30-3:00 pm at the WRAE
(building behind the Windham High School)
Featuring An Introduction to the Maine Fibershed
with Pat Harpell beginning at 1:00 pm
This will be a terrific mini workshop to learn more about our wonderful Maine based Fibershed! Pat will be introducing us to "what is a FiberShed". She will be discussing the importance of local fiber to our economy and how small changes in our fiber choices can add up to significant changes to our local ecosystems. Pat will take us on a "tour" of Maine's rich fiber farms via a garland of local fiber swatches that range from alpaca to yak and help us learn what is needed to go from shorn sheep to a locally produced yarn. She will also sharing a fun KAL opportunity with us to help promote Maine produced fibers. More details on the KAL will be coming soon, so stay tuned! In the meantime, learn more about the Maine Fibershed HERE
PLUS - We will also be wrapping up our Carissa Browning KAL with our prize drawing, so be sure to bring your completed Browning projects to be eligible. Add to that our regular Show & Share, updates on upcoming activities, and plenty of social knitting time.
