School Age Leadership Retreat!

This week, our School Age Leadership gathered for learning, collaboration, and professional development. Together, we dove into topics including building independence through connection, nature play as a vehicle for supporting emotional regulation, and fostering conflict navigation skills.

As an organization, we are committed to continuous growth and deepening our understanding of current research. Our mission—to provide every child positive and accessible experiences that nurture development—is upheld every day by our incredible team.

So much gratitude for Julie Liversidge Curchelle for facilitation and teaching.

It’s hard to believe we’re already talking about summer programs! As the warmer months approach, we’re excited to start preparing for another great summer with our families.☀️

On Monday, March 9th, an email will be sent to currently enrolled families offering the opportunity to register for full-time summer slots. These slots will then open to current families looking for part-time enrollment on Thursday, March 12. Current families will receive an email from their child’s Program Director with the enrollment link at 8:00am. Please watch for this email and be sure to double-check your spam folder so you do not miss it.

New family enrollment for both part-time and full-time will open on Monday, March 16.

Enrollment for new families will be posted on our website: www.spacetothrivemaine.com

Please note: If you submit the form for the incorrect enrollment period, your response will be removed, and you will need to resubmit during the correct enrollment period. Example: If you are seeking part-time care, but enroll during the full-time care enrollment period, you will need to resubmit.

Our Pre-K Birch room class recently closed out their Wind and Water Unit. They discussed topics like what sinks, floats, and buoyancy, designed and built their own sailboats, and did some in-class tests. Once their boats were ready to go, they took them to the stream for their first real sail.

In this unit, we also had a guest speaker, one of the classroom parents, who came in to talk about his work on boats, dredging, how they travel out on the water, and operations. We appreciate all of our guest teachers, parents, and community members who come together to help make connections to our units and make the learning more engaging.

I’ve attached some pictures of the boat decorating, designs, and their first sails. Safe to say this was a big hit! ⛵️💨💧
