They came, they served and they touched their tires in the Atlantic Ocean completing their 10 week journey from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic coast. We were blessed to have them work on four homes for older adults and veterans in our community. Faith in Action!

One more day and the cyclists will arrive in our community. Please feel free to come to St. Joseph’s College on Thursday, August 6th, between 2 and 4 pm and give them a warm Maine welcome. The cyclists will work on four home repair projects for veterans and seniors on August 7th. They leave Saturday morning heading to Fort William’s where they will dip their tires in the ocean. This will complete their ten week journey from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean. Faith in Action!

What does a rotted floor, leaking toilet and Faith in Action have in common? A community of volunteers, contractors and suppliers responding quickly to Linda and John Gregoire in need. John has ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and is bedridden.

Linda woke to discover her main floor bathroom was leaking. She called a plumber who came and left after saying the floor was rotted and he couldn’t help. Linda was desperate and reached out to Sebago Fuller. Volunteers jumped into action, connected with contractors, including a plumber, Keith Cook, who wanted to help. Within a couple days, Randy Perkins, another contractor, fixed the flooring, installed a new improved toilet donated by a supplier, FW Webb, and David Guisley, one of our volunteers, replaced the tiles.

Linda shared the following with Jim McBride:

“We appreciate the support so much. Obviously the work done was huge ! But the emotional support and love sent to us is food for our souls and I know God will bless your work always because your hearts go before you do the work❤️”

We are so grateful to everyone who has helped Linda and John over the years and continue to exhibit Faith in Action.

These cyclists are challenged by strong winds, high elevation and miles each day. Some will land in our community to work on projects in August. We pray for their safe trip.
