Welcome to the Class of 2027!

The Barrow County Chamber of Commerce would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Donna Robertson from Ameris Bank for being chosen as a member of the Leadership Barrow Class of 2027! Born into a military from South Carolina, Donna learned early on about the significance of the American dream and the importance of serving others. She channeled that love into a 20+ career across the mortgage and real estate industries, helping buyers confidently navigate every stage of homeownership. Whether working with veterans, first-time homebuyers, second home purchasers, or construction clients, Donna brings knowledge, care, and precision to every transaction. She and her husband currently reside in Monroe which is close to their adult children! When they are not traveling, they enjoy spoiling their two French Bulldogs, Luna and Merle Haggard.

Our third session and overnight retreat is later this month, and we will continue to spotlight members of the Class of 2027, so stay tuned to see all of the incredible leaders we have in this year's class🧡

Thank you to our partner, Piedmont Athens Regional, for helping make this program possible for changemakers like Donna Robertson!

The Barrow County Chamber of Commerce would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Dennis Washington from Barrow County Habitat for Humanity for being chosen as a member of the Leadership Barrow Class of 2027! Although he was born in Florida, Dennis and his family have called Barrow County home for 3 years now. He is passionate about giving others a steeping stone when they need it most, and in addition to his important work on Habitat's Board of Directors, Dennis has a mentoring organization called The Journey Inspires dedicated to empowering and guiding young men to their full potential! When he is not working to make a difference in the lives of others, Dennis works in the engineering division at Acuity Brands Lighting where he enjoys solving problems and creating solutions. He is proudly married to his wife of 24 years, Tina, and they share five beautiful children! While he is still fairly new to our community, Dennis looks forward to learning more about Barrow County, and continuing to do his part to make a difference, one family and one opportunity at a time.

The Class of 2027 proudly representing at yesterday’s Women in Business Luncheon🧡 It is inspiring to see our leaders in action out and about in the community!

Today was an exciting session as the Class of 2027 delved into the world of law enforcement! From a tour of our correctional facility by Sheriff Jud Smith (a proud Leadership Barrow graduate) to getting to go behind the scenes at the Barrow County SWAT training grounds. Watching how much training, forethought, and reason go into every aspect of keeping our community safe is a remarkable experience. Leadership Barrow would like to extend a special thank you to those at the Barrow County Sheriff's Office who assisted in making today’s session possible. Hearing about everything our first responders do is one thing, but being able to visualize and experience the training behind it is another! You are one of the major reasons Barrow is a BIG DEAL🧡

‘Twas the night before Leadership, and all through the class,
Not a leader was stirring, not even a lass!

Tomorrow at Camp Twin Lakes, the fun will begin,
With games, new introductions, and friendships to win.

The facilitators have plans, with secrets in store,
And a ropes course that promises adventure galore!

There’ll be laughter, teamwork, and maybe some fear,
As this Leadership Barrow journey officially begins here!

So rest up, future leaders, and prepare for the day.
There’s learning, adventure, and fun on the way!🧡
