🐾Asking for donations to cover animal bills🐾

We are in great need of monetary donations... As much as I hate asking sometimes, it is a must! We have had quite a few vet appointments recently and the unexpected emergency c-section not to mention our regular medications we order for multiple dogs. I will also start posting some items for sale on out yard sale page, but I'm thinking I will do it with marketplace listing to get more traction. Hopefully there will be some things of interest for people to purchase and the proceeds will go toward the animals!

HAPPY TAILS FOR MICKEY...

I sometimes don't share everything we do and likely should or at the very least do a bit better!

This is Mickey! A few weeks back he was being sold online. Not only was he being sold but the person that had "bought him" was NOT happy with their purchase and this is why he was being sold again. She stated... He was terrible with cats and had a problem peeing on everything!
As a rescue we asked would you consider rescue since he isn't neutered and has some issues that need addressed. The reply was if we would pay $400 for him! Okay we do a lot to try to make sure animals don't end up passed around home to home, especially not neutered, but $400 is a bit steep, our adoption fee is not close to that after all vetting!

Fast forward 3 days, I get a message. "Come get the dog by 3pm or he's going to the pound!" Ummmm, what? "He has to go, He cannot be here around my cats and he pees on everything!"
OKAY... Give me a moment, Let me see what I can figure out! Where are you located, I said? Cape Coral. Great 2 hours away!? We can't make it by 3pm, but we are heading your way!

Chris Custer and I hop into the "hybrid suv" aka minivan. Two hours later we arrive, standing in the driveway bag of diapers and Mickey (wearing one too) in hand. She is ready for him to go, Definitely ready! I grabbed the dog and we head home, with the unruly, cat chasing/barking, territorial over peeing little scruff and head home, where he potties outside, politely ignores our always friendly greeter kitty and settles in for the night! He did great, no accidents, also slept in a crate and friendly to all the other dogs he met to boot!
PERFECT...
Ironically our good friend Anna Angello and Mama to Jesse who she adopted from us, had a friend looking for a new cuddly companion. So we discussed her fostering him to see if he would be a good fit. The next morning Karen Borg and I headed out on Mickey's next journey to his new foster and hopefully adopter!

Fast forward a couple weeks to yesterday 10/09 sweet Mickey got all of his vetting completed! He is healthy, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, vaccinated, potty trained, well mannered and best of all, in love with his new Mama and she absolutely adores him!

Thank you Anna for helping this boy find his happily forever after! Thank you Chris for being YOU and not flinching when I come to you on a fire drill about a random dog that needs immediate escape 2 hours away! Thank you Karen for taking the other long trips equaling about 10 hours of my rambling mouth to get Mickey home to the vet and home again! Thank you Jaime for opening your heart and home to a rescue pup in need and finding you were meant for each other!

Suki-Rose getting some one on one love and feeding... she is definitely trying to adjust to being a mama, but she still wants to be a baby herself. Which means she wants to join everyone else to frolic, play and eat, leaving her babies. So a lot of time is spent making sure they are getting enough to eat and the attention they need. They are still so tiny and not the most aggressive feeders. They are all thriving though and that is a blessing in itself! Suki-Rose's incisions are healing well and she is definitely feeling better!💕🌹

IMAGINE THE REALITY...

The importance of spay and neuter!!!

Meet Suki-Rose Imagine what this day would have looked like for her without intervention.

Imagine, being overheated, exhausted, starving only trying to just get by and survive. Imagine understanding why your little body has an insatiable appetite and barely enough energy to scavenge your next morsel, and you have no choice, but drag yourself out to the dangerous streets, with no end in sight. You don't want to succumb to the pain of starvation as your body literally depletes itself to feed babies that will be born into a gut wrenching existence. Your efforts are in vein! Imagine you are never seen as a worthy of love, yet you go through the motions of life, not ever expecting a single person will recognize that you are worthy... Imagine this is where it ends, Even worse imagine it doesn't and the cycle rolls and you now have to lead others on this relentless.

Today this is not the case for this precious girl! Today this is story's ending is only in the imagination! Today Suki-Rose is not invisible she is not just existing and today she and her 5 babies will have a chance and she will not ever have to endure the VERY REAL hell on earth she would have a week ago. Today she will not die giving birth leaving another to just suffer and die in the very place she was born! Today THEY are alive!

Imagine we ALL made a difference by considering life and ending the irresponsible, selfish, cycle!

Imagine she was spayed and loved from the beginning!? Though we love to be able to help and save these precious babies! I pray for the day this is not necessary or so common!

These pictures are 2 days apart 5 babies literally half of her weight lost. Her body has nothing left on it to spare!
