Two years ago today I met my Dad for the first time.
The second we met, I knew he was my person. He knew exactly how to pet me, scratch me just right, he was elite at snuggling, and he could really throw a ball.
Back then, I still had some skills to tighten up before I could pass my Public Access Test. Dad took on the challenge, did the work with me, and helped me become the Valor graduate I am today.
A lot has changed in two years. I passed my Public Access Test, stayed sharp with my training, and crushed my annual review. I’ve traveled to so many places, made a ton of friends, and everywhere we go people tell Dad what a good girl I am, how cute I am, and that I brighten their day just by showing up.
And Dad even brought a new Momma lady into my life, and she loves me big and takes such good care of me.
Dad tells me every day how much he loves me and how much I’ve changed his life. I don’t totally get that… I’m just happy to be with him and show off the cool skills he taught me. But if he’s happy, I’m happy.
Proud to be my Dad’s service dog, and proud to be a graduate. I'm looking forward to many more years with my new family and friends!🐾💙
