We had a great time at this morning's Coffee & Commerce networking event, filled with lively conversations, new connections, and opportunities to grow together as a business community.

June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month 💜

Every older adult deserves to live with dignity, respect, and safety.

Elder abuse can take many forms, including physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and abandonment. Unfortunately, many cases go unreported, making awareness and education more important than ever.

Warning signs may include sudden changes in behavior, unexplained injuries, poor hygiene, isolation from family and friends, or unusual financial activity.

By learning the signs, checking in on older adults in our communities, and speaking up when something seems wrong, we can help protect vulnerable seniors and ensure they receive the care and respect they deserve.

Together, we can create a safer and more compassionate community for every generation.

Bridging the Gap of Van Zandt County is stepping into a new season of impact, and it starts with the transformation of the Baker Clinic.

Through a generous gift from New Life Home Healthcare, the Baker Clinic building has been donated to Bridging the Gap. This space is now being renovated into something our community truly needs. A place where care, wellness, and connection come together under one roof.

One side of the building will become a community health center offering services such as IV therapy, massage therapy, and weight loss support to help individuals take proactive steps toward better health.

The other side will be a senior citizens center for residents of Van Zandt County and Wills Point. This space will provide a welcoming environment for seniors to gather, build relationships, and enjoy a higher quality of life.

This project is about more than a building. It is about creating a lasting resource for seniors, veterans, families, and individuals across our community.

Renovations are already underway, and our goal for East Texas Giving Day is to raise 10,000 dollars to help offset the cost and bring this vision to life without placing additional financial strain on the nonprofit.

Every dollar given goes directly toward transforming this space into a place of dignity, care, and community.
