🐾❤️ BEHIND EVERY RESCUED ANIMAL IS SOMEONE WORKING TIRELESSLY TO KEEP THEM SAFE, FED, HEALTHY, AND LOVED. ❤️🐾
Have you ever stopped to think about what it REALLY takes to operate an animal sanctuary?
Not just rescuing an animal, but making a promise to care for that animal for the REST OF ITS LIFE?
At Paws Lives Matter Sanctuary, that is exactly what we do.
🐶 Abandoned, neglected, and unwanted dogs.
🐱 Rescued cats, including feral cats who have never known human kindness.
❤️ Senior animals who have nowhere else to go.
🐾 Special-needs animals requiring additional medical care.
🌈 Hospice animals who deserve comfort, dignity, and unconditional love during their final days.
And even our feathered friends who depend on us for their safety.
EVERY SINGLE LIFE MATTERS.
But here's something most people don't realize...
💔 BEHIND PAWS LIVES MATTER SANCTUARY IS ONE WOMAN WORKING A FULL-TIME JOB WHILE PERSONALLY FUNDING AND OPERATING AN ENTIRE ANIMAL SANCTUARY.
There is no paid staff.
There is no large team of volunteers arriving every morning.
There is no endless supply of donations.
There is just an enormous responsibility, countless sacrifices, and a promise made to animals who have already been let down by the world.
AND THAT PROMISE DOESN'T END WHEN THE RESCUE IS OVER.
Over the years, I have used my own paychecks, bonuses, and personal funds to build the animal enclosures, provide housing, purchase supplies, pay veterinary bills, and keep this sanctuary operating.
The buildings, fencing, kennels, and much of what you see at Paws didn't come from large grants or generous corporate funding.
THEY CAME FROM YEARS OF HARD WORK AND PERSONAL SACRIFICE.
And while I would do it all again for these animals, the financial burden has become overwhelming.
Every single day brings another responsibility.
🐾 Feeding and watering the animals.
🐾 Cleaning kennels, cat enclosures, and living areas.
🐾 Administering medications and caring for sick animals.
🐾 Providing specialized care for seniors and hospice residents.
🐾 Maintaining buildings, fencing, and enclosures.
🐾 Paying for food, litter, medications, veterinary care, and utilities.
🐾 Preparing for emergencies, storms, and the extreme Texas heat.
AND SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THAT, I STILL WORK A FULL-TIME JOB TO PAY FOR IT.
The heartbreaking reality is that Paws Lives Matter Sanctuary operates with very little financial support.
Donations are few and far between.
But the animals' needs NEVER stop.
They still need to eat tomorrow.
They still need medications next week.
They still need a safe, comfortable place to sleep next month.
And they will still depend on us next year.
❤️ RESCUE IS A MOMENT. SANCTUARY IS A LIFETIME. ❤️
Sometimes I wonder if people assume someone else is helping.
Someone else is donating.
Someone else is purchasing the food.
Someone else is paying the veterinary bills.
Someone else is taking care of everything.
But the truth is...
THERE AREN'T ENOUGH OF THOSE "SOMEONE ELSES."
And we desperately need them.
I am not asking anyone to take on the responsibility of an entire sanctuary.
I AM SIMPLY ASKING MORE PEOPLE TO HELP CARRY A SMALL PIECE OF IT.
❤️ Could you donate $5 or $10 a month?
🐶 Could you purchase ONE bag of dog food?
🐱 Could you donate cat food, litter, or cleaning supplies?
🐾 Could you sponsor a senior or special-needs animal to help with ongoing care?
❤️ Could you volunteer a few hours to help with feeding, cleaning, repairs, or maintenance?
🐾 Could you help with fundraising, finding sponsors, or contacting businesses for donations?
❤️ And if you cannot donate, could you PLEASE share our posts and invite others to follow our page?
YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING.
❤️ WE JUST NEED MORE PEOPLE WILLING TO DO SOMETHING. ❤️
Paws Lives Matter Sanctuary is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal sanctuary located in East Texas.
We are not a large, well-funded organization.
We are a sanctuary built through years of personal sacrifice, compassion, determination, and an unwavering commitment to animals who deserve a second chance.
We don't believe an animal becomes less deserving of love because it is old, sick, disabled, or unwanted.
And we refuse to turn our backs on those who depend on us.
But here's the reality...
💔 LOVE DOESN'T FILL FOOD BOWLS.
💔 COMPASSION DOESN'T PAY VETERINARY BILLS.
💔 AND ONE PERSON CANNOT FINANCIALLY SUPPORT AN ENTIRE SANCTUARY FOREVER.
I have dedicated years of my life, my time, my earnings, and my heart to these animals.
I am not asking for recognition.
I am not asking for sympathy.
I AM ASKING FOR HELP.
Because these animals deserve to know that the world hasn't forgotten them.
They deserve full bellies, warm beds, medical care, and a safe place to live out their lives.
And they deserve more than one person fighting to make that possible.
