Meet our newest arrivals! These three sweet dogs just arrived late yesterday. Tobi is a three year-old miniature poodle. Lulu is an eight year-old Yorkie and the other cute little Yorkie has yet to be named but we believe she is three. We’ll get them to the vet in the next few days and then post updates. Please welcome them to Homes Fur Hounds!

URGENT: 5–6 WEEK TEMPORARY FOSTER NEEDED FOR FORMER ENVIGO BEAGLE (Manassas, VA area)

PLEASE SHARE!

There is a family who adopted an Envigo beagle in great need right now, and I truly hope our amazing community can step up.

The husband is currently in the hospital and thankfully just came out of a coma, but they have a very long road ahead. To make matters harder, his wife is facing her own health struggles and has been falling frequently, making it incredibly difficult to care for herself, let alone their dogs.

This family does NOT want to give up their pups, but they desperately need a temporary foster home for 5 to 6 weeks while the husband is in rehab and the wife gets back on her feet. So many people rehome their dogs it's wonderful to see a family who doesn't want to just give them up, they just need some temporary help.

Because these pups have already been through a lot, they want one single foster home for the full duration—they want to avoid passing them around and causing them any extra stress.

About the Pups:
• The Pack: Clyde, 5yo (the Envigo beagle alumnus) and Beebs, 4yo (a larger non-Envigo greyhound mix). Clyde is a bigger beagle at around 65 pounds.
• Personality: Both are total lounge hounds and very friendly with other dogs!
• Training: Both are crate trained.
• Cats: Clyde has lived with cats before without issue. They aren't entirely sure how Beebs reacts to cats, so a cat-free home or a slow, careful introduction is likely safest.
• Potty Habits: They are house-trained but are used to being walked by the husband so they don’t have obvious potty “cues”. Because they don't have a fenced yard and she hasn't been able to walk them, she has temporarily trained them to use p*e pads/newspaper in one designated area which they’ve been good about using.

They are located in Manassas, Va, and they need to find a place where they can stay together safely for the next month and a half.

As the colder months approach, thousands of homeless and abandoned animals will be depending on shelters to keep them warm, safe, and comfortable.

Something as simple as an old blanket, towel, or bedsheet could make a real difference to an animal sleeping in a cold kennel.

Before throwing away bedding you no longer need, consider contacting your local animal shelter to see what items they can accept.

A small act of kindness costs nothing but could bring warmth and comfort to an animal that has already been through so much.

If you are looking for a small dog or puppy be sure to check out our website for information on all of these available dogs.

Please read through their postings to the end. Some of these dogs do have certain requirements based on their size, age, or their previous living conditions.

We know that some of these sweet dogs will need that special person or family who can understand that they haven't all been socialized well with people, or even outside on a leash, so lots of love and patience will be needed. But it will be so worth it when they snuggle with you and show you how much they appreciate you giving them a chance.

Meet Teddy, a sweet, gentle soul who has been through a lot and still greets the world with soft eyes and a wagging tail.

Teddy is 7 years old. He has a neurological autoimmune disorder. We don’t fully understand it yet, and we can’t predict how it will affect him long-term. He could live a full, happy life… or he may face challenges related to the condition as time goes on. This disorder causes small episodes where he shakes for a few minutes and may become wobbly or his legs may stiffen. The neurologist says the disorder is linked to the part of the brain that controls balance. He is on medication and will need to stay on it for life. Other than these occasional episodes, he is a happy, heathy boy.

Teddy is a loving, affectionate boy who lights up for attention, enjoys quiet moments, and just wants to be someone’s dog. He deserves a family who can love him for exactly who he is—one day at a time. Someone patient, prepared for possible medical needs, and ready to give him the secure, gentle home he’s waiting for.

He does well with other dogs. Don’t know how he would be with cats since he isn’t currently around them but he is pretty laid back so he would probably do ok.

Teddy likes to be close all the time. He will follow you around like a shadow.

He sleeps well in a crate at night, without a p*ep. If his foster mom goes out during the day, she leaves him loose and he does great as long as there is no food he can get into. He pretty much just sleeps on the couch waiting for her to come home. She has crated him when going out and he generally just makes a few squeaks and calms down.

Teddy LOVES to eat. He is very food motivated. He will let you know when it time to eat long before it is by sitting and staring at you. It’s pretty funny, if you go to pet him he will back up as to tell you, it isn’t time for lovin', it’s time for eat'n.

Teddy walks well on a leash and loves car rides.

❤❤Meet Hazel❤❤

Hazel is a sweet 4-year-old, 6 pound spayed and vaccinated Miniature Poodle who was rescued from a breeder and is now learning what it means to be loved and cared for. Sadly, Hazel has had very little human handling throughout her life, so she is understandably shy, and unsure of the world around her, but once she knows you're safe, she melts for rubs and treats.

She's working on potty training and leash walking just like her sister Truffle, making a little progress every day. All she needs is a patient person and a few snacks to win her heart.

Hazel would do best in a quiet, patient home where someone is home most of the time, or with a confident companion dog who can help show her the ropes. She is currently being fostered with her friend Truffle, another very shy former breeding dog along with several other small dogs. Everyone gets along wonderfully, with no displays of aggression.

Although Hazel is still finding her confidence, her underlying personality is already beginning to shine through. She is a gentle, sweet girl who simply needs time, patience, understanding, and lots of love.

Just like her friend Truffle, Hazel is truly another diamond in the ruff. 💎 With the right person by her side, we believe this timid girl could blossom into a playful, affectionate, and loving companion.

Hazel doesn’t need a perfect home — she needs a special person who will give her the time she deserves and never give up on her.

Meet Truffle! 💛

Truffle is a 4 year old, 8 pound Miniature Poodle who arrived here after living in a horrible backyard breeding situation. She probably lived in a cage or kennel her entire life so all things related to being a family pet are new to her, but she is loving it.

Truffle is a sweetheart through and through, she just takes a little time to warm up. Once she does, she's all love, cuddles, and tail wags.

She's still learning the ropes with potty training and walking on a leash, but she's trying so hard and is so proud of herself when she gets it right. She'd do best with someone patient who will let her go at her own pace.

Since she is just learning leash walking a fenced yard is going to be best, and having another dog would also be wonderful for her.

She is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped and ready to find her forever home.
