25 years of Shrimp Feast, and Mike Rock is still ready for another one. 🦐

There’s a reason this event has lasted 45 years.

It’s a night to grab your people, eat more shrimp than you probably planned on, enjoy some great music from Brasswind, catch up with half of Williamsburg, and know that the fun you’re having is also helping give back to the community.

45 years later, and Billy still gets excited when September rolls around. 🦐🎉

Billy Scruggs has been part of the Williamsburg Kiwanis Shrimp Feast for all 45 years, and according to him, there’s a pretty simple reason people keep coming back:

The shrimp are fantastic. Everybody is there. And it’s just a whole lot of fun.

But the best part? All that eating, laughing, and celebrating helps raise money that goes right back into our community.

That’s 45 years of shrimp, friendships, memories, and making a difference. ❤️

One week to go and the team at Williamsburg Jewelers is ready to feast! Are you? 🦐🎉

In just seven days, the shrimp will be steaming, the hot dogs will be grilling, Brasswind will be playing, and hundreds of volunteers will be getting ready to welcome Williamsburg to the 45th Annual Kiwanis Shrimp Feast!

For 45 years, this has been a night for friends to reconnect, families to make memories, neighbors to meet neighbors, and our community to come together for a really good cause.

And yes, there will be a LOT of shrimp.

Sharon and Connie moved to Williamsburg from Oregon and brought decades of fundraising and event-planning experience with them. Now they’re putting that experience to work with the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg and the Shrimp Feast.

And after all the events they’ve seen over the years, Shrimp Feast still stands out.

Maybe it’s the all-you-can-eat shrimp. Maybe it’s the music. Maybe it’s seeing friends, neighbors, volunteers, and local businesses all come together in one place.

It takes a community to throw a party this big. 🦐

The Shrimp Feast may happen on one Saturday in September, but making it all come together takes months of support from businesses and organizations throughout Williamsburg.

Who knew eating shrimp could make a difference? 🦐🍻

Greg Granger does. He was at the very first Williamsburg Kiwanis Shrimp Feast 45 years ago, and he’s been part of the tradition ever since.

For Greg, the memories aren’t just about the shrimp, the b**r, or even that one year everyone kept having fun despite the rain. It’s about what happens when people come together.

Every Shrimp Feast ticket helps Kiwanis continue supporting organizations and causes that make our community stronger.

It all started with one thought: “We need to bring this to Williamsburg.” 🦐

After seeing a Shrimp Feast in action while visiting a friend in the 1970s, Mike Sternberg came home with an idea. Great shrimp. Hush puppies. Hot dogs. Friends working together. A community gathering around a good cause.
And, as Mike says, the rest is history.

Today, that idea has become a 45-year Williamsburg tradition, and we’re especially excited because Mike will be back with us this year to celebrate it!

The Shrimp Feast has grown a lot over the years, but the heart of it hasn’t changed. It’s still about friendship, fellowship, community, and helping others.
