Flowing Creek for Mother’s Day!

We have a beautiful weekend for you! The Creek is finally flowing again after the long drought, so the kids can wade through it and our visitors can walk across our bridge, built on the great piers that once transported coal from our mountain across the creek to a railway spur that carried the coal to coke ovens in Dunlap or to South Pittsburg to possibly make those wonderful (and healthy!) iron skillets we have used for generations....

Art, Pottery, Shiitake Mushrooms, Trails, Wildflower Hikes, Springtime!!

Yes! Come and explore the new work in the Gallery. Walk along the flowing creek on Hemlock Grove Nature Trail. Springtime seems to have arrived early this year so come discover spring flowers peeking out from the autumn leaves. Redbuds are in full bloom and we are seeing buds on the dogwoods also. We will also be inoculating freshly cut logs with Shiitake Mushrooms in our new workshop....

Yes, and the trails are ready for hiking in this lovely weather--good news, the ticks have gone to sleep for the winter! So it's a lovely time to take a peaceful walk. Hemlock Grove Trail is clear and ready for hikers. Our forest road is also a nice easy walk with autumn flowers--white and purple asters, and black-eyed susans--to find along the edge....
