(2)

An independent nonprofit preserving, promoting, and celebrating the Corridor's historic, natural, and recreational resources for current and future generations. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor (the Corridor) is where the industrialization of America began with the first water-powered cotton mill in Pawtucket, RI. The development of mill villages followed along the Blackst

one River and its tributaries spreading out across the valley in a pattern that can still be seen and experienced today in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The Blackstone Heritage Corridor includes 25 cities and towns in a watershed stretching from Worcester, MA to Narragansett Bay in Providence, RI. The Blackstone Heritage Corridor has many historic sites as well as fabulous recreational opportunities on land and water.

BHC Run Club is a new community running program built around support, community, and getting outside together. Every pace and experience level is welcome. This is not a race โ€” it's a run, and you can make your run longer or shorter if you'd like.

The Appalachian Mountain Club is celebrating their 150th anniversary with the AMC 150th Relay that started March 14, 2026. They are sending a single pennant hand to hand across 2,000+ miles from Virginia to Maine by chapter and volunteer leaders who bring the pennant to the next location by hiking, biking, or paddling mile by mile. This week they were in the Corridor, and BHC joined them on the Plummers Landing hike carrying the pennant from Plummers Landing to Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park! You can be part of the journey too. Find out how to join a relay at https://www.outdoors.org/amc150/
