On Juneteenth, we honor freedom, resilience, and the enduring strength of Black communities.

June 19 marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Texas learned of their freedom under the Emancipation Proclamation, more than two years after it was declared.

Today is a time to reflect, learn, and recommit to building a future where every young person feels safe, supported, and seen.

That number is more than a statistic. It represents real young people in need of support, connection, and care.

When we invest in accessible mental health care, we save lives. When we create communities where every person feels a sense of belonging, we create space for healing.

We are proud to celebrate Brittany, a Multi-Systemic Therapy clinician whose dedication, patience, and compassion recently helped a family successfully complete Multi-Systemic Therapy.

Brittany takes the time to truly know the families she serves, meeting them where they are and building trust before jumping to solutions. That thoughtful approach leads to meaningful growth and lasting change. One caregiver shared that Brittany has been a blessing to their family, offering unwavering support, professionalism, and genuine care during some of their most important moments. Because of Brittany, this family felt heard, supported, and guided through challenges with confidence and hope.

According to The Trevor Project , 62% of LGBTQIA+ young people are experiencing anxiety, and nearly half cannot access the mental health care they need.

Behind each number is a young person who deserves support, connection, and care.

We also know what helps. When LGBTQIA+ young people have access to safe, supportive communities, their risk of attempting suicide decreases. Belonging matters.

Respecting preferred pronouns is an easy way to create safer spaces for LQBTQIA+ youth and foster a sense of belonging. Here is a quick guide on how to ask about pronouns! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

It is vital that the youth in our community feel affirmed in their identities and experience a sense of belonging. According to The Trevor Project , transgender and nonbinary young people who had their pronouns respected by those they live with reported lower rates of attempting suicide to those who did not.

Respecting a person’s preferred pronouns is a simple way to practice affirming gender identity and expression within our communities!
