There’s nothing normal about women traveling hours for a basic exam or prevention depending on geography. ⛰️

This past week, students from Project MESA (University of Michigan) partnered with local health workers in Peru to test and improve a portable gynecological table designed for rural communities, helping make cervical cancer screenings more accessible where healthcare infrastructure is limited. 🌟

What stood out most wasn’t just the innovation, but the collaboration: doctors, nurses, students, and community members building solutions together.💚

And yes… there were lots of screws, sunscreen, long clinic days, and reminders of why prevention saves lives 🌺

Motherhood is planting hope in difficult ground. 🌱
It’s carrying traditions, feeding families, adapting to changing climates, and still finding ways to build a future for your children.
In communities like Huacahuasi, mothers are not only caregivers. They are farmers, protectors, teachers, and the reason entire families keep moving forward.
Yesterday we celebrated mothers. Today we honor the work that continues long after the day is over. 💚

Innovation means the most when it is built with purpose. 💚
This week, students from BlueLab (University of Michigan) are in Nicaragua working hands-on to design and build an adapted chair for children with cerebral palsy like Jose 🥰 , combining engineering, creativity, and compassion to create something practical, dignifying, and deeply needed.
Through a sustainable and socially engaged design process, these future changemakers are learning that impact is not just about building solutions, but building alongside communities. We’re grateful to partner with people willing to listen first, learn deeply, and use their skills in service of others.🌟

May 10-16, FNE International is proud to support the Mending Faces surgical brigade in Dominican Republic, with the invaluable assistance of Fundación Cruz Jiminián providing free cleft lip and palate surgeries for children who need it most. Alongside our partners, we’ll be offering evaluations and life-changing care, because access to critical surgery should never depend on where you’re born.
If you or someone you know could benefit, please help us spread the word. 💚

This past week, alongside our partners from .foundation HOLA Foundation, we reached Minas de Pedregal (Lima), Huacahuasi (Cusco) and Zaña (Lambayeque), bringing care, connection, and continuity to communities where access is not always guaranteed.

Each place told a different story.

In Huacahuasi, care meant adapting to altitude and distance, and walking the 3-hour route to Lares, the closest health facility, to understand what access looks like at nearly 4,000 meters above sea level.

In Zaña, a coastal valley where poverty and climate change hit hardest, the focus was on expanding access and strengthening relationships beyond a single visit.

In Lima, a visit to Minas de Pedregal opened conversations focused on how to support communities while strengthening systems, not replacing them.

And because impact is built in layers:
🤍 110+ community members engaged
🤍 38 local partners and volunteers
🤍 55+ hours of care delivered

This is what collaboration looks like.
Across contexts. Toward the same goal.

Because this work is never done in isolation… and it’s always worth it.
Grateful to HOLA Foundation for coming to listen, learn, and choosing to stand with us. 💚

This week, our partners from .foundation HOLA Foundation are in Peru to explore what shared work could look like. One of those moments brought us to a sewing workshop in Minas de Pedregal (a vulnerable settlement built along the desert hills of Lima, a mega city of 12 million) where members of the community are creating a steady source of income through their craft.
It’s not a grand solution. But it’s real. It’s consistent. And it matters.
Across places and contexts, the challenges may look different, but the goal is the same: creating pathways to stability, dignity, and opportunity.
This is how the work grows. Not in isolation, but together. Thank you HOLA Foundation for showing up! 💚

If you know Eli, you know the force that she is.

She is the core of our Nicaragua team, someone who shows up no matter what, the first person you call, carrying so much with strength, care, and an incredible sense of purpose. So much of what exists is possible because of her.

But beyond all of that, she is a mother who loves her children deeply, a partner, and someone who gives her whole heart to the people in her life.

Last week, Eli experienced an unimaginable loss with the sudden passing of her husband, Max.

Max was deeply loved by so many. He was Eli’s partner, a devoted husband and father, and someone who shared her deep commitment to family and service.

There are no words that can make a loss like this easier. But in a time that feels impossible, we can help carry what comes next.

This fund has been created to support Eli and her children, to ease even a small part of the weight she is now carrying, helping with immediate needs and the many expenses in the weeks and months ahead, and ensuring that concerns for her children’s future are not something she has to hold alone.

If you are able to give, or even just share this, it truly matters.

Eli has spent so much of her life showing up for others.
Now it’s our turn to show up for her.

Thank you for surrounding her and her family with love.

Only a few days left in 49 for the Future…

Join our Hope Collective 🤍

Because it’s not about the amount.
It’s about the consistency.

A dollar
Five dollars.
Twenty dollars.
Whatever it may be… it builds something real.

It keeps us moving.
It keeps us growing.
It keeps us showing up.

It becomes classroom supplies.
Medical care.
Homes being built.
Salaries supporting our local teams and communities.

It’s planting a seed… and choosing to water it, again and again.

No amount is too small.
No impact is too insignificant.

Consistency is what we’re building.
Movement is what we’re creating.

And with only a few days left…
what part will you play?

Join us.
