The Weymouth Food Pantry exists at the generosity of neighbors for anyone in town who is struggling to make ends meet and could use a little help with groceries.

We were delighted to welcome Lois Drukman, a longtime member and former president of the Rotary Club, and her husband to our warehouse!

Each year, Lois and her husband make a generous personal donation to support the Weymouth Food Pantry. Their continued commitment to our mission helps ensure we can provide food and hope to individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout our community.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of community champions like Lois and her husband, whose generosity and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.

🌎💚 Good for Our Neighbors, Good for Our Planet! 💚

At the Weymouth Food Pantry and South Shore Food Bank, caring for our community goes beyond getting food onto the tables of our neighbors. It also means finding creative ways to reduce waste, repurpose resources, and make the most of everything that comes through our doors.

We're proud to share that our ongoing waste-reduction efforts have helped us achieve a 40% decrease in the amount of waste going into our dumpsters! That's something worth celebrating!

A big part of this success comes from two wonderful community partners:

♻️ RecycleWorks picks up materials from our bins weekly, helping divert unwanted food and packaging from landfills through responsible recycling and waste recovery.

🦉 New England Wildlife Center Weymouth collects fresh food we aren't able to distribute, including vegetables, bagged salads, bread, and bagels. These resources get a second purpose supporting the care of animals and wildlife.

It's a great example of how one organization's leftovers can become another organization's valuable resource!

We're incredibly grateful to RecycleWorks, New England Wildlife Center, and all our community partners who help us make these efforts possible.

Because fighting food insecurity and reducing food waste can go hand in hand. 💚

Less waste. More purpose. Stronger communities.
