Words That Move Us 🦉
In 2015 Will Ferrell suited up for ten different Major League teams in a single day of spring training, all to raise scholarship money for young cancer survivors through a charity his old college fraternity brother started.
He has been doing this since he was a broke college kid at USC, helping a fraternity brother named Craig Pollard who beat cancer twice and wanted to make sure other survivors could still afford school. That was decades before Anchorman, before Talladega Nights, before any of it. Even after the fame hit, he never let this one go! He is still raising money for Craig's charity decades later, alongside everything else he has gone on to support.
That is the harder version of giving back. Not one grand check once you have already made it. It is the same person or cause you stick with for years, long before anyone is watching and long after the excuse to stop shows up. The businesses and neighbors around here who actually change something for people are usually doing that same quiet thing, year after year!
