On 2/21/2026, our organization had another exciting and unforgettable moment. Four board members of OCScommunityUnited: Vice President Hong Xin (Ben) Zhu, Treasurer Alex Weng, Secretary Olivia Lin, and Membership Chair & Event Coordinator Ziwei (Derek) Zhao presented a 10K big check donation to our local Chinese school doing the Lunar New Year celebration. Our president, XiaoWen Zhu, was there in spirit and will continue supporting the organization while at college.
This milestone reflects the months of dedication and teamwork. Our organization is incredibly proud of the impact our $10K donation will have on our school’s education. This completely aligns with the organization goals and values of giving back. Looking back at our journey, we are so thankful our supporters. During even the hottest summer weekends, we were out at farmers' markets and flea markets getting funds instead of being at the beach. Our team has endure 100 degrees weather to go door by door for support and funds. Our work goes beyond fundraising. We have personally delivered 40lb crates of noodles to restaurants and teamed up with local businesses for charity sales to make sure our community has the resources it needs. We have also given back to the environment through integrated eco-friendly practices—like collecting recyclables from local businesses and growing plants (from the small seedlings to mature plants) for our funds—into our outreach. Our efforts have paid off. At OCSCU, we’re showing that with enough grit and compassion, we can create better change into the community. On 2/21/2026, the Ohio Chinese school hosted the Lunar New Year Gala at 2655 W Schrock Rd, Westerville, OH 43081. WOW, all OCSCU members were involved in the entire process, including their own classes. The performances of the panda baby class and the PK class were incredible. At the same time, our organization raised $10,000 for the Ohio Chinese schools to support their educational needs. Well done, everyone.

To get ready for an exciting new year, OCS community United members! From December 2025 to February 2026, we'll be gearing up for Chinese New Year's events and rehearsals, as well as preparing for the 2026 summer market, where we'll grow plants from seedlings to maturity. On October 5, 2025, the OCS community came together for an unforgettable event—the first-ever Moon Festival held at the Ohio Chinese School! With over 200 enthusiastic participants, the day was a vibrant celebration packed with excitement. Every detail of the event was meticulously planned, from the delicious food that delighted everyone's taste buds to the fun-filled games that brought smiles to faces of all ages. And of course, the anticipation of the prize giveaways added an extra layer of thrill to the festivities. It was a celebration that truly united our community in joy and gratitude!
