🐟National Go Fishing Day 🐟 is next Thursday, 6/18! We’re partnering with Honey Hole Tackle Shop for a kid’s fishing event at the downtown public fishing pier. 💦🎣

Bring the kids and their gear to the fishing pier starting at 8:00 a.m. Honey Hole will be on-site to help kids cast, tie on baits, and perfect their fishing skills! Thank you to John David Owens and our friends at the Honey Hole for joining us at this event.🩵

The pier is located on the downtown river property at 108 N. Riverfront Street by the railroad tracks.

The City of West Monroe and the Center for Planning Excellence are currently gathering community feedback on the Downtown Streetscape Demonstration Project aimed to improve the traffic flow and pedestrian experience downtown.

Another exciting improvement is taking shape in Downtown West Monroe!👷‍♂️🎉

Installation of new signage along the downtown riverfront is now underway thanks to the $50,000 T-Mobile Hometown Grant awarded to the City of West Monroe.

The grant was awarded to support continued investment along the riverfront, including new signage, landscaping, planters, and expanded arts and cultural opportunities. Seeing these signs go up is an exciting milestone as that vision continues to become a reality.

We are grateful to T-Mobile for investing in West Monroe and helping us create an even more vibrant and welcoming downtown for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Happy 16th Birthday to Holly Cassells!! 🎉🎂 She recently celebrated her Sweet 16 at the Downtown Gallery Crawl! They even created a cute downtown-themed scavenger hunt for the night. We saved a Crawl poster, signed her birthday card, and gave her a “cakie” from CAKE as a thank you for incorporating downtown into her milestone birthday. 🥳

What a great night in Downtown West Monroe! 🎨🎶

Thank you to everyone who came out for the June Downtown Gallery Crawl and spent the evening exploring local galleries, supporting artists and businesses, and experiencing all the creativity that filled Alley Park and downtown.

We love seeing our community come together to celebrate the arts and everything that makes Downtown West Monroe such a special place.

Come share your thoughts about downtown West Monroe's future streetscape at this Thursday's Downtown Gallery Crawl! The Center for Planning Excellence (CPEX) will be set up in Alley Park during the Art Crawl to collect public input about how to make streets safer, more inviting, and better for our local businesses.

Thanks to a Louisiana Main Street grant, we're working with CPEX and City of West Monroe to demonstrate and test various traffic and pedestrian components of the Downtown West Monroe Master Plan to help bring more people downtown.

In preparation for that demonstration, CPEX will be at the Art Crawl on Thursday, June 4 from 5-9 PM. Please stop by and visit with them to give your feedback about downtown!
