Join the West Milford PBA for our fourth annual golf outing! This year’s outing is special as we honor the legacy and service of Sergeant Lou Rose Sr. Lou made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him and we would like to ensure that continues.

Join us for breakfast and registration at 8am before a 9am shotgun start! This scramble format will be played at the beautiful Great Gorge Golf Club!

The cost is $150 per player which includes breakfast, lunch, and golf with sponsorship opportunities available!

It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness the West Milford Police Department announce the passing of Detective Sergeant Lewis Rose Sr. on Saturday, April 4th 2026.

Detective Sergeant Rose served the Township of West Milford for 21 years, beginning his career in August of 2005. Throughout his career, he served as Patrol Officer, CPR Instructor and Field Training Officer. Upon his promotion to Sergeant, he accepted his new roles as Patrol Supervisor and was Unit Commander of Fi****ms Training, Hostage Negotiations and Honor Guard. He was later assigned to the Detective Bureau as a Detective Sergeant.

Prior to his career in Law Enforcement, Detective Sergeant Rose served his country with pride during Operation Iraqi Freedom as a member of the United States Army. He continued service to his community by joining the Ocean Gate and the Bayville Fire Departments. Later becoming a very active member of Apshawa Fire Company # 1 and Macopin Fire Company #4 in West Milford

Detective Sergeant Rose was a devoted son, husband, father of three sons and a daughter, grandfather, brother, co-worker and friend.

Visitation will be held at Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home at 187 LaRue Road in Newfound, NJ on Thursday April 9th from 11 am - 3 pm with a memorial service beginning at 2 pm. Final Honors will take place immediately following the service.

🚨 Reminder: West Milford PBA 162 Venison Dinner is TOMORROW! 🦌

Time to start thinking about stretchy pants—come hungry, leave happy, and maybe just a little too full of venison 🥩😄

Make sure to swing by the PBA table where we’ll be selling:
• Challenge coins – $15 each
• PBA t-shirts – $25 (Sizes S–XL), $30 (Sizes 2XL+)
Because a great night deserves some great gear to go with it.

🚗 Parking Info:
Overflow parking is available at the NAPA Auto Parts lot just north of the Elk’s Lodge—easy in, easy out.

📌 Quick Reminders:
• Have your tickets ready for entry
• No outside alcohol permitted
• Doors open at 5:30 PM—get there early before the best cuts go quick

It’s that time of year again—come hungry, leave happy, and maybe a little bit full of venison 🥩😄

Swing by the PBA table where we’ll be selling:
• Challenge coins – $15 each

Because nothing says “great night” like fresh gear and a full stomach.

🚗 Parking Info:
Overflow parking will be available at the NAPA Auto Parts lot just north of the Elk’s Lodge. If you can find venison on your plate, you can find the parking lot.

Earlier today, with assistance from the West Milford SOU Team, our newest officer, PTL. Faulkner, received emergency ice rescue training! Utilizing one of our specialized ice suits, PTL. Faulkner learned proper procedures and gained hands-on experience in ice rescue techniques.

🎁 Operation Toy Train is back for its 17th holiday season! From Nov 15–Dec 14, the train will roll through 69 towns across five states, collecting 40,000+ new toys for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and local charities.

Visitors can stop by to donate new, unwrapped toys, meet Santa, enjoy local activities, and see historic railroad equipment.

Can’t make it to a stop? 🎁 There is a drop box right in the lobby of police headquarters! (Officer Guevara NOT included)

Huge congratulations to Officers Pete Wunk and Nick Soltesz for receiving the NJSPBA Valor Award! They, along with a Good Samaritan, bravely rescued two people from a burning car in West Milford Township on March 15, 2025. The West Milford PBA couldn't be prouder of their heroic efforts!
