One Paw at a Time Rescue

One Paw at a Time Rescue 501c3 Nonprofit animal rescue located on West Milford NJ. Once they arrive, they are vetted and screened for proper placement in foster homes.

As a 501c3 nonprofit organization we pull unwanted or abused dogs from southern shelters and midwest Puppy mills to give them the chance at a better life. We work with numerous city and state shelters along with transport companies to ensure these dogs are safely transported to the NJ / NY area. Dogs are socialized and learn to adapt in home settings with a structured schedule. Once observed by st

aff for a few days, these dogs are ready for adoption. All applicants are required to fill out an application. Once your application is received we will complete a vet and reference check. If approved, yiu will get a call from a team member to go over the adoption process and to set up a meet n greet. All of the pups are located in Stony Point NY or Butler NJ

( Sunday will be limited times in our NJ locations)

We do NOT hold pups. They are on a 1st come 1st serve basis for approved adopters. So availability abd speed is important

We recently took our Bassett Hound Wynn off our FB page. We noticed once she came in, she was dragging her back legs occasionally
After a ton of Xrays and vet appointments, we got the news that Nothing is wrong with her legs...

She is litterly dealing with " Growing Pains"

Our vet thinks once she is fully grown, she will gain more strength in her back legs.

This girl runs, jumps, acts a fool and is a typical naughty puppy. Wynn should be kept thin, she should always get a joint supplement daily and her back legs should be monitored throughout the years - especially this first year as@ her body is growing

Wynn is a 4 month old female Bassett Hound. She was rejected from a NJ pet store and we were more than happy to take her in

We estimate her full growth weight to be 45ish pounds. She currently weighs 12 pounds

Wynn is a happy puppy, super submissive with other dogs. She LOVES kids, loves being outside and of course she loves to eat....

These 2 girls are 7 months old
They both weigh under 5 pounds
They are Pappillon / Toy Poodle *** These are breeds not common in rescue...
They LOVE to be held
They will sit in your lap all day
100% princess
Prefer human food over dog food
Love being brushed and pampered
We are looking to place them etheir together or seperate into homes where someone is home with them. Both girls are not happy left alone for long periods of time
Both prefer sleeping in bed with a human over being crated

Both have a reduced adoption fee

Both are current on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea and tick prevention and heartworm prevention. Our vet prefers them to be over 6 pounds for spay surgery
