New sneakers, some touch football, and some big news at West Middle!

This week, we celebrated a three-year grant to continue TOP Self Sports at West Middle through the Connecticut Social Equity Council’s Reimagine & Revitalize (R2) program, administered by United Way of Central & NE CT of Central and Northeastern Connecticut.

Fleet Feet Hartford (Fleet Feet West Hartford) made the morning even better with new sneakers for 30 kids!

Thanks to Steph Blozy, Dave and Fernanda Jacobs, the Fleet Feet team, Hartford Public Schools CT and everyone at West Middle Community School

So excited to keep this going together!

With the WNBA Finals upon us, we figured it was good karma to have Washington Mystics coach Sydney Johnson remind us that "Life’s 2 Short 4 Just 1 Sport!"

Thanks to our partnership with Fight for Children, we're helping more kids in DC's Ward 8 discover the joy of playing different sports and finding what they love.

And with so much college and professional sports action happening right now, it's a good reminder that every kid deserves the chance to experience the games the rest of us love watching - and playing!

From the court to conversations with DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb and Fight for Children's President and CEO, James Kallusky - we're excited to keep building awareness and advocating for greater access to play - all while teaching kids the value of self efficacy and self regulation!

We had the best time in our second year as Hartford Marathon Foundation official charity partner! We are so grateful to our eight amazing 2-4-Run team members, who ran, fundraised, and inspired on behalf of 2-4-1. Your dedication reminds us that sport brings out the very best in humans!

We celebrated National Fencing Week with kids across Connecticut and across the country picking up a foil, trying something new, and discovering the fun of fencing!

We love seeing more kids get the chance to experience a sport they may never have tried otherwise. That’s sport sampling in action!

Celebrating Stephanie Blozy, recipient of the 2-4-1 Play It Forward Legacy Award!

Stephanie is an INCREDIBLE champion for youth sports. From Fleet Feet West Hartford Zoomerangs, to the Little Manchester Road Race, to her No Boundaries Run Group, to her CrossFit Override athletes, Steph has changed thousands of lives for the better. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when Kevin Rivera, a high school runner-turned-incredible adult, shared how her mentorship changed his life.

Steph is committed to making sure everyone belongs in sports, and we're so grateful to recognize champions like her. Congratulations, Stephanie, and thank you ❤

What a way to close a home season!!

Huge thanks to Liberty Bank for giving 24 of our 2-4-1 teacher/coaches, staff and friends the chance to experience the Hartford Yard Goats' final home game of the season from the Liberty Bank suite!!

Great baseball, great company, and a really fun day for everyone! We are grateful for partners like Liberty Bank who support our work and the people who make it happen.
