Our Story

The Wentzville Community Historical Society (WCHS) was formed by a small group of men and women in 1975. It is the city's oldest cultural society that is fully managed and staffed by volunteers. We look to preserve and share our history with the public, by enhancing the education and documenting the heritage of the people in and from Wentzville and surrounding communities. We're dedicat

ed to the collection, preservation, and exhibition of our local history. We are a membership made up of individuals dedicated and interested in helping preserve and share the history of Wentzville with everyone.

We are sorry to report that we have lost a long-time member of the historical society, Roses Diekroeger Palmer. Roses was raised in Wentzville and graduated from Wentzville High School. Her father owned the lumber yard during that time. She was also one of the girls who was a Wentzville Community Club Homecoming Queen. Please join us in including Roses and her family in our prayers.

ASSISTANCE NEEDED - we could use a few extra hands this Saturday evening!

A last‑minute cancellation means we’re short on volunteers for the Historical Society Beer Tent and our Human Slot Machine.

If you’re one of our younger members (or just young at heart), we’d love your help!

Jobs are simple and fun - grabbing beers or acting as the “reels” for the slot machine. All the easy stuff.

We'll handle all the money and the hard stuff. Just reach out if you're able to help!
