Our Story

The Wentzville Community Historical Society (WCHS) was formed by a small group of men and women in 1975. It is the city's oldest cultural society that is fully managed and staffed by volunteers. We look to preserve and share our history with the public, by enhancing the education and documenting the heritage of the people in and from Wentzville and surrounding communities. We're dedicated to the collection, preservation, and exhibition of our local history. We are a membership made up of individuals dedicated and interested in helping preserve and share the history of Wentzville with everyone.

We are sorry to report the passing of long time member Gary Mittelbuscher. Gary along with Bill Vehgie was instrumental in working with the carpenters that installed the deck on the caboose.

View Gary John Mittelbuscher's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

Unfortunately, due to ongoing construction in the area, the Linn Cemetery Association has asked that we cancel this year’s WCHS Cemetery Tour. With the current restrictions on access, we agree that this is the best decision. We fully plan to host a great tour next year, and we hope you’ll continue to support the event.

Thank you for your support!
