East Wake Education Foundation

East Wake Education Foundation Children need to be as prepared as possible when they enter school. That's what EWEF is all about.

These services for eastern Wake children ages birth to school age are designed to enhance children's development and to raise community awareness. EWEF offers free early childhood learning to eastern Wake County families with children ages birth to five. Our program is unique because the parent or caregivers stays on site with their child and participates in daily activities.

Congratulations AJ for being the winner of our summer basket. He and his parents participated in 39 program days, field trips, community events, and library visits this summer! We are so glad you got out in the community so much.

We loved seeing our families collect stamps all summer. Now let’s get ready for the school year.

Having books in your home library encourages reading and access to books. Today we were able to share books with families. Children and parents enjoyed handpicking ones to take home.

It doesn't get much better than our last culinary creation for the summer, S'mores! When making s'mores we practice multi step instructions, waiting while they cooked, watched a little science happening, and used our senses to enjoy.

Not everyone liked our messy snack, but everyone tried.

Our time with Mrs. Joy is always a good time. We love having her do music time with us over the summer, but we had to say goodbye until next year.

Doing simple music activities with your children is great for their development. It can be singing to the radio, singing songs for counting, making up a song to what you are doign. Music can teach impulse control, ways to express yourself, and just bring happiness. Dance parties are always great on a rainy day! Try it out.
