To close out Teacher Appreciation Week, I joined members of the New Jersey Education Association to thank them for all they do.

Our educators help uplift and shape the next generation, and I’m deeply grateful to every teacher who helps nurture our future.

Huge turnout tonight as the Paterson Education Association showed up strong and united in front of the Paterson Board of Education.

Educators, support staff, community members, and other labor unions made it clear: our schools, our students, and our future are worth fighting for. Anticipated cuts are not just numbers on a page, they impact real classrooms and real lives.

When we stand together, our voices cannot be ignored. 💪📚

PCEA’s MOC had a fantastic Member Benefits Fair!

Members had the chance to learn more about all the incredible benefits that come with being part of the union, from financial services to professional support and everything in between. It was great to see so many people engaging, asking questions, and taking full advantage of what their membership offers.

We also took time to recognize May Day with some meaningful activities, highlighting the importance of solidarity and the ongoing fight for workers’ rights.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make it such a successful and energizing event!

The Passaic County Education Association was proud to recognize three outstanding honorees at our annual Friends of Education event whose work continues to make a real difference for our students and staff.

We honored Passaic County Clerk Danielle Ireland-Imhof for her leadership and commitment to serving the residents of Passaic County, always with an open door and a willingness to support our schools and community.

We also recognized EAP’s own, Assemblywoman Linda Carter, a true champion for education who consistently advocates for policies and resources that uplift both students and educators.

Finally, we celebrated CUMAC, an incredible organization that works tirelessly to combat food insecurity and support families across our county, ensuring that our students are able to come to school ready to learn.

Together, their collective efforts strengthen our schools, support our educators, and help create the conditions our students need to succeed. We are grateful for their partnership and proud to recognize their impact.

Had a great time visiting Manchester Regional High School to experience their multicultural fair, and it truly did not disappoint.

The students put together an incredible event, showcasing cultures from around the world with pride, creativity, and so much heart. From the displays to the performances and everything in between, it was clear how much effort and passion went into making the day special.

A huge shoutout also goes to Bernadette Orsita and her whole team who did an amazing job bringing it all together. Events like this don’t just happen, they take vision, coordination, and a real commitment to celebrating diversity and community.

Really inspiring to see the talent and dedication on display. What a fantastic job by everyone involved.

Busy week for PCEA and a great reminder of the strength of our community.

Monday started with breakfast alongside NJEA president Steve Beatty, followed by a visit with our PEA colleagues at the STEAM School. Thank you to John McEntee for the invitation and the warm welcome. That evening, we were proud to show our support for Rosy Bagolie.

Tuesday brought important conversations as we met with NJEA and county leaders to discuss the impact of severe federal funding cuts and how we continue to advocate for our students and members.

Wednesday I was happy to attend the PCREA luncheon with Tina Dare, NJEA secretary/treasurer and past NJREA president Joan Wright. That was followed by one of my favorite nights of the year, cohosting Unsung Heroes with the Passaic County School Boards Association. Truly inspiring to celebrate so many incredible students across the county who may not always be recognized by traditional measures but deserve it just the same.

Thursday morning, I attended the Greater Paterson Chamber of Commerce Breakfast at CUMAC to learn more about the incredible work they do supporting Passaic County families facing food insecurity.

Friday, I had the chance to visit my school and jump in on some school spirit activities. Always great to get back to my roots.

And on Saturday, we were proud to celebrate many incredible honorees at the Women’s Impact event hosted by Growing with Grace, including our own past president Susan Gentchos. Well deserved all around.

Proud of the work we continue to do together.
