Over 200 rising zebras attended our “Zebras on the Rise” freshmen event this afternoon. This turnout shows our incoming students are excited for high school and eager to be prepared for their first day.

And just like that, School Resource Officer Serman is back for another exciting 2026-2027 school year. Officer Serman is a 2011 graduate of Wayne Memorial High School, and a Marine Corps Veteran. SRO Serman has been with the police department for 5 years.

Although he is assigned to WMHS, SRO Serman makes an effort to be present in all the schools in the community. This year, SRO Serman is looking forward to building stronger relationships with the students. He wants students, parents and staff to know that he is always available and willing to help, no matter how big or small the concern.
