We want to take a moment to shout out the incredible team at Waypoint Services for being such a vital partner in our housing response system. We began a partnership with their housing call center team two years ago to restructure our service access internally. They stepped in to help screen housing calls for survivors, complete assessments for folks not experiencing DV, and manage an immense call volume across the Iowa Balance of State Continuum of Care.

With a full team doing this work - work that is otherwise held down by a single staff member on our end - their support helps ensure quicker access to the Coordinated Entry list and more responsive service for our community. This work takes compassion, consistency, and care, and we’re deeply grateful to Waypoint. Partnerships like this remind us that none of us do this work alone. Thank you for all you do!

Props to our Mental Health Committee for organizing Walks on Wednesdays! Every Wednesday this month, we head out of the office to get some fresh air, enjoy the sunshine, and spend time together.

Taking a short walk during the workday can help reduce stress, boost mood, and improve focus when we return to our desks. It’s a simple way to support mental wellness while building stronger connections as a team.

We can’t stop thinking about the incredible generosity of our community. We recently received a donation of much‑needed toiletry items from Waverly–Shell Rock High School, thanks to their Contemporary Issues class. As part of their Senior Capstone Project, students chose a local cause they care about and worked to support it. We are deeply honored to have been selected.

These supplies will go directly to our housing and shelter participants. Something as simple as having your basic needs met can make a powerful difference in someone’s daily life. We are truly humbled and so grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

This free event, sponsored by Friends of the Family, Wellpoint, and The Salvation Army Waterloo Cedar Falls Iowa , is a celebration of wellbeing for the whole community - featuring a healthy meal, free haircuts and trims for men and women, energizing fitness and dance sessions, relaxing reiki demonstrations, and a wide range of local organizations sharing resources and support. Connect, recharge, and thrive - together.
