As we head into our upcoming banquet, we want to reflect on ways we have been able to improve habitat locally in Bremer County.
Introducing the Dean Brase Native Prairie Restoration Project.
Together, along with the Bremer County Conservation Office which owns the property, we have made significant contributions towards restoring this property which sits just east of the Wapsipinicon River, north of C33 on Tahoe Ave, SE of Tripoli. This was made possible through generous support from Deb Brase on behalf of her late husband Dean who was a proud PF supporter.
With their generous contributions, this property which was an old pasture will be restored back to native prairie. Upcoming restoration includes building a new parking for visitors, barriers, and a sign. This project remains ongoing, with hopes of completion by spring 2027.
