!!!ADOPTED!!!

Sissy wants everyone to know that she is having a GRAND time at the shelter while waiting for her forever home. She says the accommodations are something she only dreamed about.
And there is a POOL! She wants you to know you can come on down and join her. She had a pool date today, but her boyfriend didn't want to get in.

Sissy is an 8 month old shepherd/husky mix.
She is good with other dogs.
She is becoming a good leash walker.
She loves all people, cuddling, toys and treats.

She hopes to find a forever home soon.

Come visit Sissy at the Waverly Animal Shelter during shelter hours.

Looking for a little bundle of pure LOVE? ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ
Meet SOPHIE!!

Sophie is a 41 lb 10-month-old black lab. We are calling her a mini lab! She was owner surrendered as the young girl that had her had circumstances arise that prevented her from keeping her.

Sophie is a sweetheart of a young lady and just about perfect! She is full of love and has the most positive disposition. Every dog and human is her friend.
Loving? Heck yeah!
Snuggling? Heck yeah!
Play time? Let's get started!
A walk? When can we get going?

Sophie would thrive in a home with children and other dogs.

Come meet this beauty queen at the Waverly Animal Shelter during shelter hours:

๐Ÿพ MEET LEROY! ๐Ÿพ
If personality could be bottled up, Leroy would have enough to fill an entire warehouse! This handsome 2-year-old black Lab came to us and wasted no time making sure everyone knew he had arrived. From his goofy antics to his endless enthusiasm, Leroy is the kind of dog that turns an ordinary day into an adventure.
๐ŸŽพ His favorite things? โœ”๏ธ Chasing a ball in the yard โœ”๏ธ Running and playing until he's happily worn out โœ”๏ธ One-on-one time with his favorite people โœ”๏ธ Giving endless kisses and soaking up affection
Leroy is a young, energetic boy who simply isn't meant for kennel life. Like many dogs his age, spending long hours in a kennel can be frustrating, and we've noticed he does best when he's getting plenty of exercise, enrichment, and quality time with volunteers. After a good play session, you can see the sweet, loving dog he truly is.
Recently neutered, we expect some of his excitement and impulsive behaviors to continue improving as he settles into a routine. Leroy can be reactive toward other dogs, so we recommend either a home where introductions can be done carefully and slowly or a home where he can be the center of attention as your one-and-only companion.
Because Leroy loves with his whole heart, he may be a little too enthusiastic for very small children. His excitement for hugs, kisses, and playtime could accidentally knock over a little one. But for an active family or individual looking for a loyal companion, Leroy has so much love to give.
This boy deserves more than a kennel. He deserves a home where he can run, play, learn, and finally be someone's best friend.
โค๏ธ Come meet Leroy and see why everyone at the shelter can't help but smile when he's around.

ADOPTED!

Ma-Lady won the jackpot with a wonderful foster home.
She says living in a quiet home and being away from the crazy and loud shelter is wonderful!

Ma-Lady is an 8 year old. She was owner surrendered as the family that had adopted her ( not from our shelter) and had her for a couple months said it wasn't blending well with their other animals. We don't know anything about her life prior to that.

Ma- Lady is completely house trained. She is a great leash walker.
She can be crated if needed, but she doesn't get into anything when you are away.
She is great in the car. She loves being a co-worker when she gets to go to her foster moms workplace.

Ma-Lady is an easy, relaxed, mellow girl. She is not a barker. She likes her beauty sleep and sleeping in late is all right with her.

Please share Ma-Ladys post so we can find her forever home. The shelter is too overwhelming for this old gal and she is praying she doesn't have to come back.

Please reach out to the Waverly Animal Shelter or text Joyce/ volunteer @ 615-927-1605 to coordinate a meet and greet since she is in a foster home.

Ace is a 2 year old, 36 lb handsome fellow!
Ace had been adopted as a young pup and was just returned to us. He was struggling with the energy of the children in the home.

Ace is great on a leash.
He had lived inside on his prior home and he will quickly acclimate to being house trained.
He loves living inside and being a part of a family.

Ace will need a quieter home, preferably with no children. He likes a calm surrounding.
He loves one on one time with the volunteers.

Sweet Harper is sadly approaching her 4th month with us. She arrived on May 5th. She was malnourished, severely underweight, her coat covered with scars - fresh and old scars. She was broken and defeated.

Harper is estimated to be about 2 and 1/2 years old, and she weighs close to 65 lbs. She came to us as a stray.

She quickly took to the routines and especially the daily walks and one on one time with volunteers. She learned how to trust humans and saw we were her friend. Volunteers circled around her and focused on making sure she knew we were going to take care of her from the moment she set foot at the shelter.

Upon arrival, Harper wanted distance from every dog around her. We felt she had been put in a position to fend for herself over time, and had not had positive experiences with other dogs. She protected her space. But, time has eased this and Harper is chill now and totally non reactive. She knows she is safe.

Harper loves chilling and being a lap dog. She savours her 20 minutes one on one time with a volunteer daily.

Harper has done well with a variety of children she has met. She has been open to new friendships with every human she has met.
We have not had her interact with another dog and we hope to find time to do this soon. Harper would probably thrive best as a one and only - taking care of her family and understanding for the first time ever what a home is.

Harper's best days of her life have been at the shelter. She deserves more than this. She deserves her own bed, her own yard, car rides and snuggles on the sofa.

Harper is faced with obstacles just for her existence. She is a black dog. She is a pit bull terrier mix. And, she has not had the chance to enjoy positive interactions with other dogs. All of these factors make it harder for her to find her forever home.

If you are considering adopting, please come meet Harper .
Please share this sweet girls' post.
Let's all work together to help her finally know what family and home mean.

You can meet Harper during the Waverly Animal Shelter hours.

Or you can coordinate an after hours meet & greet during volunteer hours.

๐Ÿผ๐Ÿพ Help Us Keep the Babies Toasty! ๐Ÿ’™

We just realized we are down to ONE heating pad for our bottle babies. ๐Ÿ˜ญ The others we had have broken over time, and somehow we didnโ€™t realize we were down to our last one until we needed them!

If anyone would like to help us restock, we found animal heating pads on Amazon that are on sale right now for only $20 and some change! These work much better for bottle babies because theyโ€™re made for animals and can keep a steady warmth without us having to constantly turn them back on.

๐Ÿ›’ https://a.co/d/09jueyKQ

Regular heating pads are welcome too! ๐Ÿ’™ They arenโ€™t quite as safe or convenient for this use since most automatically shut off and have to be turned back on over and over, but we can still use them and anything helps!

With bottle babies coming in, we definitely need more than one working heating pad on hand. If anyone can send us one, donate one you already have, or even just share this post, we would really appreciate it. ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™
