🐾Our 5 Little Beagle Mixes Are Thriving!🐾

We realized we haven’t sent an update in a minute, and these sweet babies have been very busy growing, healing, and completely stealing our hearts.
At five weeks old, the whole litter is officially thriving and cute as a button! But we have one extra special, miracle milestone to share…
🌟 ELAINE IS STANDING!
As many of you know, sweet Elaine could not use her back legs due to a spinal lesion. Injury recovery for the spine takes a long time and requires endless patience, but we are already seeing spectacular progress. Elaine has officially started standing on her own! She still has a long road ahead of her, but her resilience—and the incredible dedication of her foster—is absolutely everything.
Looking Ahead to Forever
Right now, the puppies are staying together. While it will still be a while before they are big enough to move on to their new adventures, we have the most wonderful news: We have already found confirmed, forever homes for all 5 puppies! 🎉

🐾 Update on our sweet girl Fae! 🐾

Look who is making amazing strides! We visited her with her foster yesterday, and her report card is shining bright:
• Infections & healing:
Her urinary tract infection is under control, the bleeding has stopped, her back is healing up nicely from where she had a rough start, and the maggots are completely gone!
• Big milestones:
She is standing up on her own to eat now (a huge deal since she was struggling to stand before!), and she is resting comfortably while she works on her weight loss journey.
• ❤️ Pure love bug:
Despite everything she has been through, she gets along with everyone—dogs, cats, humans, and kids. She is just a fabulous little soul.
She still has a long road ahead of her to safely lose the rest of her weight and let her spine rest easy, and she isn’t quite ready for adoption yet. But watching her transform and feel so much better with her wonderful foster family is such a blessing.
Keep cheering her on! When the time comes, she is going to make some lucky family the absolute best best friend. 🐾👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

💔🙏❤️‍🩹Heavy hearts and immense gratitude surround our Heartbeat4paws family this week. Yesterday, we gathered to celebrate the life of one of the most radiant, kind-hearted souls we’ve ever known. Rodney(Rod) Ferguson
He was a man who left a lasting mark on everyone lucky enough to cross his path. A dedicated Speedway police officer, a man of deep faith, and someone whose infectious smile could light up any room. He was graceful, sweet, loving to all, and quite simply one of the finest individuals you could ever meet.
To us at the rescue, he and his wonderful wife meant the world. They opened their hearts and home as one of our forever foster families, taking in sweet Phil as a hospice dog. The love, patience, and devotion they showed Phil was a true reflection of the kind of man he was.
Yesterday’s Celebration of Life was deeply emotional, full of so much love, and a true testament to the legacy he leaves behind. Phil has been an absolute godsend for his wife Dawn Hilzley Ferguson as she navigates life after his passing, and we are holding his entire family, who have been nothing short of fabulous to our rescue, so close in our hearts right now.
While their Superman may no longer be here physically, we know he is flying high, watching over his family, and doing his Godly work above.
Please keep Dawn, his daughter Brittany and family in your prayers.

Rest easy, friend. We will take it from here

Facebook family, say hello to Hali!
She’s one of our wonderful past rescues and she’s spending the night with us before her mommy and daddy pick her up tomorrow. Her hair looks so incredibly cute—they keep her so sweet and perfectly groomed! Having a giant amount of fun with this beautiful Giant Schnauzer! 🐶❤️😊

🐾 Keeping Their Memory Alive 🐾

Two best friends! 🐾
Blind and deaf senior Miss Hope, and the other's little miss drama queen Lucee, with SRMA who screams at dogs within 4 feet of her... but she loves miss Hope when she's sleeping! She does an army crawl to her and slides right underneath her head. They have some secret and special bond.( she hates me watching, hence her crazy eyes) she really doesn't want me to know she has a sweet side.
😂 trust me, she spoiled!

On a quick side note, Lucee heads back to the vet on the 14th for her routine nail trim. Because her nails grow uncontrollably, she has to be sedated every six to eight weeks so the vet can cut them as short as possible and cauterize them. If she isn’t completely asleep, she absolutely panics and thinks she's being tortured.

😥🥹Update on Fae: A heartbreaking discovery
As we continue working to clean Fae up and get her comfortable, our foster and vet team made a horrifying discovery. When we turned her over to clean and shave her back half, we found maggots coming out of her v***a.
This reveals an even deeper level of prolonged neglect than we initially realized. However, she is already on heavy medication and receiving immediate, aggressive treatment to clear the infestation.
Fae has an incredibly steep mountain to climb, but she is resting, safe, and finally getting the care she has deserved all along. Please keep this brave girl and her amazing foster in your thoughts.
A note to our community: We are completely heartbroken and disgusted by what she went through, and we are actively looking into the situation. Because our energy must be entirely focused on Fae's healing and supporting her medical team, we ask that you keep the comment section constructive and kind. Anger and negativity will not help her heal, so please keep those comments to yourself. Thank you for standing by Fae during this incredibly difficult recovery.

Meet Fae. 🐾💔
Today, we officially took in this sweet four-year-old girl to save her from being euthanized. She arrived in heartbreaking condition—unable to clean herself and covered in urine, blood, and f***s. She is constantly urinating pure blood and can only walk very short distances.
We were only able to say yes to saving her because one of our amazing past vet tech fosters stepped up and offered to foster her.
Our vet immediately got to work helping Fae feel more comfortable by bathing and shaving her back half. Her journey to healing is going to be long, and we still don't know the full extent of what she is facing. We rescued her today, sent out her initial bloodwork, and she will be getting X-rays on Monday after a much-needed rest.
Fae has a mountain to climb, but she is safe with us now. Please keep this brave girl and her wonderful foster in your thoughts as we start this long process.
